Could it be Erik Soler actually knows what he's doing? Now if RBNY could just ditch Marquez...

An attacking mid? shiat. Could use him here in Portland.

He's only 32. He's still got plenty in the tank.

Maybe Frank Lampard will be the next to make the shift? Dude might be 34 but he can still play at an elite level. He'd absolutely tear up the MLS.

Except he's farking pants. Scrappy, but an extremely limited player. Probably look a world beater in the minors though.

The MLS... where good players go to die.

You could use a lot of positions in Portland.

I thought Australian Soccer was that other sport that involves full contact and legal use of the hands, and the clock runs in the opposite direction

Meh.

I want the MLS to be something more than a retirement league. I'd much rather see young players being brought in.

Personally don't really get what NY is doing besides stockpiling players. They just brought in LeToux. So where do Henry, Cooper, Le Toux and Cahill all line up? Someone is going to play out of position. Or sit on the bench. Cahill kind of makes sense but Le Toux doesn't. And with the addition of Cahill makes less sense.

/oh and lol @ Portland
//no pity indeed

Wait, We have a pro soccer team here?

He was a non-factor for Everton last year, it's good that they got some money for him instead of him walking away on a free transfer.

It's New York's famous "Let's try to be like the Galaxy, only we suck at this!" strategy in action.

ONLY 32? In soccer, that's like being only 65.

Same age as Beckham when he came over, if memory serves. He's done well. Hell he had two great goals just the other night. Won a cup. Kicked a ball at some guy on the ground.

There was a time when Everton were on the cusp of being something much, much better than they should have been, and Tim Cahill was part of that. Limited, sure, but lots of spirit on the field.

/haven't watched premier league in three years or so.

Beckham can get away with being old, because he can just walk around and hit a target 45 yards away with pinpoint accuracy with a kick if he wanted to.

Yeah. I'll miss him though.
