We can put a station in space, yet we can't figure out how to put a camera on it with an unobstructed view

There are lots of other videos from the ISS without IIS hardware in frame, the point of this one was to have it in frame. What's interesting to me is the tracking, zoom and pan shots were made with a motorized rig- meaning the astronauts are rigging at least basic timelapse motion control gear. It also means the crew spends lots of time looking out the windows to get ideas for the shots.

HAL 9000: Dave, you'll get a better view if you turn off window tinting.

Videos like this make me feel weirdly sad. I always wanted to be an astronaut, but it never was in the cards for me (aside from medical issues, I also suck at math and physics, and never had any desire to be a researcher, doctor, or military).

Absolutely gorgeous video!

Same here; I'm still hopeful I could travel in space one day in the distant future. If we could go from the Wright brothers' first flight to a moon walk in less than 70 years, we could make civilian space travel a reality.

/hey, I can dream

BF walks in on me watching the video...

"Are you crying?"

It was so damn beautiful.

This was remarkably beautiful but I was left dry-eyed. What gets me are the real and CGI Apollo launches.

/yes, even MiB3
//the gf didn't get why i was tearing over Apollo 13

Given that virtually every thread on Fark has far more comments than this one, I'm surprised that humanity can actually build something like the ISS.

If only I could view the video with my device.
