In other news, this is really disappointing. This is likely to shift the funding field away from beta-amyloid therapies, which until now really seemed to be the most, or at least highly, promising.

Of course, if you can create a therapy that breaks down the plaques and tangles without the vascular damage or general swelling, you'll be looking at something worth testing in humans. Of course, good luck convincing anyone to fund that work after this. The standard for pre-clinical work in this vein is going to be unwieldy.

/May or may not be waiting on that AD funding Sebellius announced a few months ago
