Quote FTA: "What's cool about them is they're timeless. They capture a point in history."

Does that seem like a contradictory choice of phrases?

Hell, you erase the border, you could almost call it the current logo.

I'd love to have it. Auction doesn't end til 8/20 though. I know it will be more than I'd pay for it by then though. Ted, they also got to witness Cam's first, record setting season. That could be a big thing to collectors further in the future. If he takes them to a super bowl, the price could dramtically increase.

Certainly you can't put Cam Newton's ego on a wall...

Whoever bought the giant banners they draped down the side of the RBC center for the 2006 Finals can put these next to them.

Yes, they auctioned them off. I have no idea who would ever buy them. They also auctioned off the in ice Stanley Cup Finals logo (which is apparently printed on something to save time putting it in, so they don't have to hand paint it like most of the logos in the ice). That would look cool on a wall, and was a human size.

A few years later when they were replacing the glass anyway, they cut it up in various sizes and sold it off fairly cheaply. I've heard of people who bought some for coffee tables and whatnot.

\Sports teams do this all the time.

Uhhhh, worst moment in my life. I was a huge sports fans, until that game. That loss hurt more than any break-up I ever had. It farked me up.... I couldn't watch anything to do with the NFL , until the superbowl.

That loss made me realize I had a problem. Now its just game.

There's a Sandusky joke in there somewhere.

They should hand it outside of Rae Curruth's Jail Cell.

I was shocked it took more than one comment for this to be brought up. Everyone who posted before you should be ashamed. That's either the best or worst name for a charity ever, but given the timing of this article, it seems more "worst."

It's named after Sam Mills, former LB for the Panthers, who died from cancer in his 30s, and his motto of how he got through his chemotherapy and rehab while continuing to coach and show up for work every day.

Hope that makes you all feel better.

I don't see why it would make me feel worse. Obviously it's football-related. That doesn't mean it's a great name. Baron von F*ckyou might have been a great man who fought valiantly against every enslaving army and all known diseases and won, but I still wouldn't name a charity after him.

Somewhere in Las Vegas in the not to distant future....

I'm not sure what they're worth or even if they are authentic but let me get a guy down here who knows everything there is to know about this kind of stuff and see what he says.
