Several months, but it's for admin use only.

Egoy3k: Denise Paba, whose 6-year-old niece Veronica Moser was killed in the mass shooting at an Aurora, Colo., screening of the latest Batman movie, grieves during a July 22 memorial.

Not to blame the parents for the kids death or anything but WTF? Why on earth was a 6 year old at the midnight showing of The Dark knight Rises anyway? What kind of dipshiat brings their young child to a midnight showing of a violent action film? Can you imagine buying a ticket for the midnight showing and then having to sit near some dipshiat's annoying child?

I thought the same about this and the three month baby that was injured...WTF are you doing with 3 month old at the farking Batman movie

Yes, stupid. But they were probably such fanatics of the Batman franchise that they thought the kid would wear "I saw Dark Knight Rises at midnight the day it came out" as a badge of honor when he got older.

I dunno... my best friend saw The Wall on the day it came out when she was 11. I think that's kinda cool, because I love the movie.

Yeah, but one was a hero for going to the gym the next day, so he doesn't count.

Sorry, innocent until proven guilty. He deserves all the medical treatment necessary. Its how our system works.

Do I think he's guilty? Hell, yes. Will he be convicted? I'd say there's a 99.999999% chance yes... unless some very bizarre police mishandling comes out.

It was covered in another thread, but I got a bigger WTF out of this story:

"The couple gained attention...because they went to the midnight show of "The Dark Knight Rises" with Legarreta's 4-year-old daughter and their 4-month-old son."

"Rohrs described how he lost 4-month-old Ethan in the darkness, gunfire and smoke in the theater and how he had to decide whether to search for the baby or escape the theater himself. He chose the latter."

"Once outside, he debated going back in to find the rest of his family, but then he thought they may be out and he could leave the children orphans if they did get out and he went back in and was killed."

So, he abandoned his baby, his girlfriend and her daughter. Textbook definition of a loser.

One of the multiplexes in my area doesn't allow children 6 and under in to see movies that start at 6 p.m. or later, the exception being children-specific movies. So, no young kids or babies at PG-13 or R-rated movies.

Not sure of that particular one, but there are many of these popping up around he country. We got one down here a few years ago. 21 and over only. Beer, wine, mixed drinks. Really great food by renowned local chef.

Its obviously a slightly expensive night out, but in the end the final tally doesn't really come to that much more than just a dinner date with no movie. And they play indie films and documentaries the big house theaters don't touch.

I saw one of the girls that got shot on the news before I came in. She was in the theatre next door and she got shot in the jaw. There's a hole in her chin, she lost a tooth and the bullet will be in her jaw forever. They would cause too much nerve damage if they tried to remove it.

I don't know about that. The dude was going for a PhD and by all accounts (many of which I understand haven't come out) he didn't exhibit any crazy behavior. According to Wiki its used in only 2% of felony cases, and is only successful 25% of the time.

Basically you have to be absolutely bat shiat crazy out of your mind, with zero control over your actions. I'm just not seeing it here.

I don't think it would be right to execute him.

He's not some career criminal thug, he is without a doubt suffering from severe chemical imbalances that he was born with.

His type of schizophrenia commonly appears during adolescence and early adulthood, he's actually a typical case of mental disorder. He is no more responsible for him being deranged than any of you are for being your skin color or height.

I wondered if they hadn't kept him awake - either for the type of interrogations that just wear and wear and wear on a suspect or for the sheer abuse of it - and he was just flat-out exhausted once given a chance to sit down in a fairly quiet room.

Also, to whomever asked about the lady sitting next to him, probably part of the defense team put there only to put something more pleasant to look at then the crazy red-headed freak next to her. Totally playing to potential jurors, IMHO. Plainly our client is crazy because here is the opposite of crazy sitting next to him.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. I saw his interview on Piers Morgan the next day and the way he described it, I was thinking perhaps I misheard him or he was in shock and was telling it wrong. However, after seeing it a second time I realized, no, this guy only cared about himself.

I realize no one knows how they will react in that situation until you're in it and although we'd all like to think we'd be brave and noble, that probably isn't the reality. However, I couldn't imagine abandoning my baby who has no means of escaping on his own. It's pretty pathetic that I believe it was a teenager saved the mom and both children. She managed to get shot and still got both kids out. She didn't seem too upset about his actions in the interview, but I hope she thinks about it before she marries him because that pretty sums up what their marriage will be like.

/Also, I hate anyone who brings young kids to a theater. The mom trying to rationalize that Batman is a family flick didn't help her cause. I'm so glad there's an iPic near me.

The dude had two kids that he should have been responsible for. At LEAST one of them was his own flesh and blood. His #1 priority as a parent is protecting that 4 month old. Running like a pussy is NOT an option.

He then goes on to say that he wouldn't want to live if they didn't make it out alive. It's a damn good thing that his girlfriend was braver than he was, because both those kids might be dead if they had to rely on him to protect them. At least the 4 year old could try and make a dash for it. The 4 month old was helpless. And if they all died and he escaped, would he have taken his own life? Then he had no reason not to go back for them.

I don't think it's a big deal as long as 1) you think the baby can handle it and 2) you're prepared to LEAVE THE FARKING THEATRE if that kid starts getting fussy. A friend of mine took her 2-month-old to the last Indiana Jones movie. The baby was always REALLY good--never really cried or fussed no matter how loud the noise levels at home got, so figured she'd take the chance. She fully expected to bail if the baby acted up but the kid slept through the whole movie.

/I think my friend wishes she did, too.
