Why were there only 5000 Mexicans at the Alamo?

I'm so glad I don't work in Texas.

The thought of working a mass casualty where people are screaming in hispanic terrifies me.

I only know to say "Where's the bathroom?" in Spanish.

This is why I love Spanish calls at my call center job. They can yell until they're blue in the face and it won't affect me.

Friend that spent time in Spain said you only need to know 2 phrases, the one you mentioned and more importantly "Uno cerveza por favor".

Sad because you know most of them are kids. When I was a kid it was normal to ride in the back of a truck just for the fun of it. Not packed in like sardines though.

This. I've seen the poor bastards crammed into Cherokees stacked on top of each other for 150 miles of jeep trail.

Intentionally kill 'em with a gun and it's all over the news. Intentionally kill 13 with a truck and get the sound of crickets. That driver is going to be pissed that he's not being incorrectly profiled by the media.

It doesn't sound like riding inside a pickup truck in this kind of accident is much safer than riding in the bed. From the picture it does not look like it either.

Clearly it is time for common sense regulation. This vehicle can carry high numbers of passengers at speeds far in excess of the posted limit. Look at the uk, where people get around on scooters and gas is very expensive. They don't have nearly the number of ford f150 deaths there, for sure. They also don't have this automobile culture. How could anyone need a truck that could carry that many people that fast? and hold that much gas? We should leave mass transit to trained drivers and train operators.

You make fun, but it really is about time we started talking about reasonable restrictions on automobiles. Do you really need a 6000 lb instrument of death? I don't think so. A bicycle or Smart car should be all that anybody really needs in this day and age. You aren't taming the wilderness, you are driving to work. A metal penis extension is not necessary for that.

We must immediately take severe federal steps to insure no one can get access to high capacity trucks. Because that's the real problem, here.

There must be a UN Treaty immediately to prevent people from getting access to high capacity trucks.

PS - no mention shall be made of money-grubbing coyotes, illegal aliens breaking the law and/or the cost to local and state governments for these incidents.

It is as you go further north passed Moscow and through Corrigan. It has several stop lights on the damn highway.

It's been too long since I last drove down to Corpus to remember what 59 is like on the way there.

Most of the pictures of people in other countries piled high on a vehicle, the vehicle is typically only managing about 20-30 mph. The ones that pile it on in America tend to barrel along at 50-70 mph. It is amazing we don't see more of these types of accidents, considering that the vehicles are not only speeding along with way too many people, but doing so on cheap retread tires or bald tires.

Locally, it is usually a white Ford Econoline van with that many Mexicans headed north, they have a thing for white Fords.

It was hard to single out, because it was in front of a Honda Civic with 25 and behind a Silverado filled with 34.
