So let me get this straight

Obama, the Democrat, has opened up gun regulation, allowing guns into places they've never been allowed before.
Romney, the Republican, has a record of restricting gun freedom.

And the NRA endorses... which?

If you needed any proof that Romney is not befitting the job of President of the United States, look at this as a good example of his stupidity. Who knows how he will run the nation? When does he tell the truth and to who? And, will he ever stick to his guns and not shift his position based upon the occupants in the room?

I had a conversation with a Romney supporting, 22-year-old waitress at Max and Erma's with glow-in-the-dark plastic dumb bell nipple piercings (she showed me), arguing Obama would have euthanized her grandfather.

Do NOT count Romney out.

The NRA lost all credibility concerning endorsements for me when a few years back when I got an email saying the Democratic candidate has a perfect record of supporting gun rights and responded to the NRA election questionnaire promptly with the correct answers and is rated A+. In comparison the Republican candidate has no record of supporting gun rights and didn't bother responding to the questionnaire, but he's a Republican so we're just going to give him an A rating by default.

This latest Romney endorsement? Drilling into bedrock. A Democratic candidate who signed an assault weapons ban would be rated F by the NRA and used as fundraising fodder.

ANY claims the NRA has that they are non-partisan are about as realistic as an untrained amateur blinded by tear gas in a darkened theater pulling their five-shot hammerless concealed carry revolver with a 1" barrel and firing a single perfect kill shot across a crowded room of panicked civilians against a target wearing body armor and a riot helmet.

Which proves (finally) that the NRA cares nothing about gun policy, and is only a shill for the GOP.

Who else would the National Republicans Association endorse?

Although this is interesting...

http://www.npr.org/blogs/itsallpolitics/2010/10/06/130393162/nra-end or ses-14-house-democrats

So, by that line of logic, Obama should get their endorsement.

Although, I can't find a list of those they endorsed, but, I'd have to imagine they are mostly southern and great plains/mountain states democrats that would be republicans anywhere else.

This is how I feel about him. I have no clue what he's going to do, he could be a good moderate but something tells me he's going to join the rest of the GOP mental midgets on the far right. As a centrist I'll likely be voting for Obama yet again.

If makes more sense when you consider the NRA's board of directors: John Bolton, Bob Barr, Grover Norquist, Ted Nugent, etc., etc.

I kinda get a kick out of fark libs hate for Romney and conversely conservatives' endorsement of Romney. If you look at his tenure as governor of Massachusetts, he's not that different from Obama. The rhetoric is different but not the actually policy stances Romney took as governor.

We don't need more gun control, we simply need a law banning mentally ill people from dressing up in costume to go to a movie premiere.

But they're not a partisan organization! They base their endorsements solely off who would be better for gun rights! Really!

Correction: You get a kick out of being a mouth breather who doesn't realize that the assault weapons ban is completely different than what Obama did. A) Because Obama has only expanded gun rights B) Because MA is liberal and Romney had no problems doing that there; but try doing that on a federal level.

"Fark libs" don't hate Romney. We are (justifiably) concerned that he would be a rubber stamp for the ultra-conservative Teatarded Congress.

Ah yes us "Fark LibsTM" are so stupid for hating the liar, the one who says one thing and does the other, who does whatever is expedient and is currently surrounded by Bush era politicians.

And that's exactly the same as endorsing him blindly. Exactly.

It's hard out here for a Republican, we have to constantly change our stance on things with Mitt, and deflect other things that even a dipshiat like Michelle Bachmann would call bs on, and misdirect things that there's no way to justify not happening like Mitt releasing his tax returns, but it's ok cuz none of us are rational and have any concept of history relating to the present anyway so it's not as hard as it looks.
Oh wait I've said too much.

Obama edited this post with his time machine you stupid libs I didn't write any of that.

The problem is, Romney now actively disowns the policy stances he took as governor. So the question becomes, which Romney would we get as President? Governor Romney, or Candidate Romney?

Personally, I don't think we'd see either. Rather, we'd get this Romney:

His rhetoric not matching his history is precisely why people dislike him.

If he campaigned like the middle of the road, milquetoast muppet his history shows he is then most of that evaporates.

Well except the hate from the aspie Paul-bots who will never be pleased.

also Romney is suffering from the same problem McCain suffered from and effectively all GOP politicians - doesn't matter what their personal beliefs or past records are - they must fit a mold no matter what, takes a great deal of selling out and ironically creates a character-suicidal situation

Selective fire capability is the normal discriminator. If it can only shoot semi-auto (or only full-auto), it's not an assault rifle.

I wasn't only talking about the assault weapons ban. I was talking about all of Romney's policies while governor. And yes, it's amusing to me because I hate both parties and contend there's little real difference between the 2 aside from the rhetoric.

I strictly follow the constitution as written by our founding fathers and what they had intended. I believe everyone belonging to this great nation is entitled to a single shot musket and/or pistol.
