This means that two Yankee pitchers have to swap wives and Horace Clarke is the new starting second baseman.

Oh no! Now they only have the best record in baseball still! Whatever will they do?

..and all four games were lost by 1 run... it's maddening!

Cano'shiat streak was snapped (at 23 I think?) Saturday too.

Stupid A's. Stupid O.co.

Rough weekend - good for the A's, they've definitely got the pitching to stick around in the Wild Card race.

You're showing your age.

How does one approach wife swapping? Who does a guy talk to first? His wife, the other wife, the other husband? So many questions....

At least they make it easy to identify who should get ignored immediately.

Step 1: Teams should use every legal method available to them in order to win.
Step 2: Except that, and that, and that, and that.

Doug Fister is in contention especially if he gets paired with Furbusch in a rotation.

They were traded for each other (along with others) last season. Fister for Furbush.

The A's were good in '72. And stylish too. They probably invented the high five during that series.

2012-07-23 01:16:19 PM
The Yanks were not that good in '72. Probably because the A's had recently left Kansas City and were no longer acting as the Yanks' farm club. Also, free agency.

Yeah, 4-gm losing streak coinciding with a 5-gm win streak for Baltimore - not too worried about that trend continuing, especially since the O's are still -44 in run differential.

As an A's fan of 43 years, I appreciate your classiness. Over the years, I've found that New York fans (both Yankees and Mets) are pretty much the most knowledgeable (I hate it, but it's true), but also the most arrogant. You are a pleasing exception to the rule. Sometimes I wish I was a New Yorker, just so I can have an intelligent conversation about baseball.

/I'd favorite you, but you already appear in Yankee Blue

I appreciate that, though i'm sure there are more than a few around here who would disagree - mostly those who take facetious comments too seriously, but thanks all the same.

Despite yesterday's minor blip, Yoenis Cespedes has really been paying dividends for my fantasy team lately. Now if JOSH farkING HAMILTON can get his head out of his ass and start performing up to expectations again, my fantasy team may be able to keep its now tenuous hold on first place.

Personally, I love that the Tigers still wear basically the same uniform that they have for 100 years:

I checked the standings the other day and saw 4 AL teams were tied for the two WC spots. As of this post 3 teams are tied for the two AL WC spots, and 5 other teams within a reasonable distance(4 games or less back). We may even get a double extra round of the playoffs.

Please, they normally collapse long before September.

Honestly I'll be happy with .500. I'll be happier if they have a winning record, but playoffs isn't a requirement for me to be happy about this season.
