Glad RBR wasn't penalized after caught cheating.

Currently on the formation lap. Most drivers on softs, a handful on mediums.

Alonso wasn't entirely in his starting grid. I don't know if he'll get penalized, though, as that would mean penalizing a Ferrari driver.

Senna's car is smoking, he's probably done.

True, though it'd help RBR.

Try "VIPBox" and "First Row"

Also, Pastor Maldonado should be forced to watch that pass Kimi put on Di Resta over and over again. That's how you do it without wrecking, Pastor!

you have to love F1 rules, change a bad transmission before it's run 5 races? Starting penalty. Introduce a new nose and other parts halfway through the season? No problem.

Normally, when there's a new obstacle on the track, they call it "Narain Karthikeyan"

I'm pretty sure there's no rule requiring teams to speak English.

And the whole point of them speaking in Italiano is so that when the audio clip is played on BBC/SKY, the other teams will have a harder time figuring out what they're saying (all the teams have a guy watching the TV so that when radio transmissions are played out loud so the general public can hear, they can hear)

/15 laps to go

Maybe, depends on if Bernie wants to allow the pass or not.

We'll have to wait and see what the penalty, if any, will be. If they decide to give him a grid penalty in Hungary, it'll be less harmful to RBR and more so to McLaren than giving Seb a 20- or 30-second penalty this race.

There are several other penalties that can be imposed upon Seb (who just told Button that he didn't know whether Button was in his blind spot, so he left room, just in case), but a grid penalty would be least harmful to RBR and least helpful to McLaren, so I think that that's what they'll do

"Jenson Button said to Sebastian Vettel after the race: "They are going to investigate your overtake you know." Vettel responds: "I didn't know where you were." Will that defence be enough?"

Likely story, Sebastian, hope Bernie's bribe was enough.

See, I could have sworn there was a rule about English so that the stewards could monitor traffic in the event of some form of cheating (of course, since team orders are now legal I doubt that's as much of a problem).

At least it's a better penalty than a grid penalty, it drops Vettel further behind his teammate (whom Vettel seems to think should get out of his way, despite Weber being ahead of him in the points even before the penalty). Given some of Vettel's other comments about this race, perhaps he needs to learn to shut his mouth and know his role (i.e. blocking behind Weber to ensure that Red Bull catches up to Ferrari in the points).

Every driver has an ego, and I think we're seeing the manifestation of Seb's frustrations. This is the first time he's had to deal with real difficulties at the Formula 1 level. He had one full season at Toro Rosso, and the moment he got promoted to Team Newey he's finished 2nd, 1st, and "honestly, why did we bother finishing the season" last year. He had a pretty meteoric rise, and now that he's in the thick of it and things go wrong, something he's not entirely accustomed to.

Seb's matured a lot. I would not expect the reigning world champion in a wide open season to play interference for Webber. Seb is still in the hunt, and behind Alonso, he's the most talented of the youngins.

Though the second he completed the pass on Button, I kept saying to my friend watching with me, "he has to give it back, otherwise the penalty will be much worse". The way Button's tires were going off, he could have given up the position, waited a turn or two, and still passed him easily before the flag. I guess at his age and with his level of competitiveness, giving back positions is not in his repertoire.

Stupid tape delay. It's the middle of summer, I'm going to be outside doing things around noon.

Webber looks like he got some points, but Alonso is pulling away.

Best drivers in the world hands down. I am saving the qualifying session on my DVR as proof to anyone who says otherwise. That rain session qualifying was epic. Just right on the edge of control! The race was pretty good also!

Same here, fan-wise, but if you short-cut a chicane, the penalty's similar.
A true drive-through would've probably dropped him below 5th.

As to "I didn't know where you were", it's the *passer's* responsibility to conduct
and finish it safely. He *should* know where the passee is/was/may be.

Sorry...two weekends of explaining to people what constitutes a pass under
yellow, and what doesn't.

One more to go before a break.
