No. Nobody should be drinking Bud Light.

2012-07-22 07:21:52 AM
He has abysmal taste in beer. The only consolation is that Romney probably only likes drinks that include little umbrellas.

Really? REALLY?

Bush was a pot-smoking crack-head and nary a peep was said. But if President Obama wants to kick back with a cold one, all of the sudden it's an issue

Only because he's using the beer to wash down the arugula and spicy mustard.

2012-07-22 08:42:02 AM
I believe he is at least 21 years of age, so he can drink any crappy beer he likes

2012-07-22 08:43:22 AM
Why is this even a question? Congress is driving.

2012-07-22 08:43:38 AM
I'm definitely not voting for him after this.

I can't find a citation for it, but I recall reading somewhere that Obama's beer of choice is Yuengling.

Bud light is disgusting, but then so are many lagers. I prefer wheat beer.

2012-07-22 08:49:58 AM
It's healthy-ish. Particularly when compared against "premium" barley-water.

Isn't that strictly seasonal, or do they make that year-round now?

Romney doesn't drink- W.C. Fields line comes to mind. "Never trust a man who doesn't drink"

Is being "the type of guy you'd like to have a beer with" off the list of reasons to elect, then?

DonWrite: No. Nobody should be drinking Bud Light.

Bud Light drinkers don't think their beer is special, but most importantly they don't have an opinion on what beer other people drink. They don't care.

Beer snobs are too quick to offer an unsolicited opinion about everyone else's beer.

Guess which of these people is more annoying?

Pot smoking crackhead would have been a little bit easier to deal with. Bush had been a hopeless cokeheaded alcoholic-- recently--before he was elected. And he drank O'Douls, the worst non-alcoholic beer on the market. Yet he was the kind of guy America wanted to have a beer with. Here we have Obama, a guy you actually can have a beer with without having to worry about him stealing your car and driving it into a swimming pool, and he's an elitist snobbish mulsim assassin with pandering tastes in lager.

An interesting part of our 24 hour news cycle is the death of an "honest" visit. I mean it's not out of line to say this might be a bid to appear working class, etc - or he just stopped at a bar?

Is it possible to actually just DO anything, if you're president, or is everything subtext?

I just wish he'd choose an American beer.

Not when the President continually insists on being so near.

"Going with Bud Light is a safe choice and is probably the best choice," says Ries. "Bud says 'leader.' I think it is still believed by Joe SixPack across the nation to be an 'all-American' beer. Even though it is owned by a foreign conglomerate now, most people don't think about it. The average person thinks of Budweiser as an American choice."

The appeal for a politician, Ries suggests, lies in Bud Light's popularity.

"With Bud Light being the best-selling beer, obviously a majority of people are drinking it, and for most people, Obama kicking back with a Bud Light is a relatable experience," Ries continued. "Take a look at the list of best-selling beers and a majority of people are drinking light beers. In certain circles, Bud is looked down upon and only craft beer is cool, but for most people, they are drinking Budweiser, Bud Light and Coors Light, the general mass brands."

This is an actual article in an actual newspaper. Let that sink in for a moment.

Seekrit mooslins don't drink alcohol. We all the secret service switched what was in it because it's Ramadan.

Also, some local drunk bought the Bud Light for him so if he said no he's a dick and a seekrit mooslin. Can't win either way.

Maybe he should be drinking whatever the farking hell he wants to drink?

2012-07-22 09:18:05 AM
No and when Romney becomes president and takes our beer, we won't be subjected to seeing any politicians drinking in public. It's shameful.

That is when they shouted out about the sinful beer drinker, destroying kids by showing sensible drinking of alcohol.. They then went home and had a beer because no one else was watching.

Yeah it's seasonal, but at least down here (a store in central Fla.) it seems available more often than not. When it's not I go for their Porter which is also good. Even on a hot day. I'm weird like that.

It doesn't take a beer snob to point out that Bud Light Sucks ass.
I don't have a problem with people drinking apple cider, mike's hard cranberry, or wine coolers either, but don't call it beer.
