umm, its quite safe to pet a porcupine as long as you don't violently go against the quill direction. People have ho problem letting little children pet porcupines, I guess as long as they aren't a scardy pants shrieking little girl like you.

Baby porcupines are extremely cute. When we are out on the state land, they hand upside down in brush and look at you. So, so freakin' cute...

The adults are cute too, but in a little waddling bear kind of way.
