CraicBaby: Tyranicle: I agree 100% with you and I believe that if Aurora was a right to carry town we wouldn't be having a discussion about twelve innocent lives lost. Granted, not every spree shooter booby traps his apartment either. Nonetheless, if more citizens were given the right to carry, the less incidents like this will happen.

Colorado is a CCW state and is very pro-gun. The shooter was wearing full body armor, so shooting back at him wouldn't have done shiat.

You obviously don't possess Tyranicle's weapons skills, cool and calm demeanor under fire, Adonis-like looks and giant penis.

Dick Van Dyke would have entered the premises and tripped over the bomb.

murrdy: Devolving_Spud: I'm guessing here:

I think he wanted to destroy any evidence in his apartment, but I wonder if his larger plan was to create one hell of a diversion just before the pre-planned time he was going to open fire at the theater. Sounds like he wanted every cop, firefighter and EMT to be at one location, unable to respond quickly to what he was planning at the theater.

He wanted to cause a giant explosion and while calmly sitting in jail ala The Dark Knight

He even said he wanted to be called The Joker

I think he told the police his apartment was rigged and also that another location was rigged, and they only had time to get to one place. Also, maybe he gave some people a detonator to the apartment and told them the people in that apartment had the detonator to THEIR apartment. Do you wanna know how he got these scars?

hbk72777: Tyranicle: The US is more armed than the Chinese, Indian (call center people) and Russian armies combined

And you want to live under the rules of those countries? Ask them about their quality of life and if most of them wouldn't trade places with you.

/you don't have to worry about a stranger shooting you, the government will run over you with a tank or shoot your ass behind a building

Glitchwerks: This About That: Pro Tip: Deciding not to barge into someone else's apartment uninvited is always a good idea.

FTFY.

Anyway, I read earlier that the music in question that was blaring was techno. So obviously the media is going to call for a ban on electronic music.

Can it be a ban on Skrillex, please let it be a ban on Skrillex.

I suppose we're all losers for coming to Fark at this time of night on a Saturday to express our ironically clandestine senses of humor, and especially for doing so in thread about a temporary, eventually forgettable and mostly unnoteworthy but tragic event in national history.</troll>

consider this: How the hell does a guy burst into a packed theater and only kill 12 people?

I know, totally wasted opportunity. Wait what?

Fonzi and her boyfriend have been staying with relatives since being evacuated. "We were considering moving prior to this, so maybe this is the push that we needed," she said.

Oh c'mon, what are the chances the next neighbor will be another homicidal maniac?

The music stopped about 1 a.m. But within two hours, a SWAT team had kicked down the back door of the building and was banging on residents' doors, telling them to get out as soon as possible

calling the building's super would be too much work

Hobodeluxe: funny how if I wanted to buy tens of thousands rounds of ammo. numerous assault weapons, gas grenades, body armor etc it wouldn't throw up a red flag to the govt.
but if I want to buy over 30 tablets of asthma medicine at a time it's impossible. and I have to show i.d., it comes from behind the pharmacists counter and I have to sign for it.

thanks NRA and GOP for keeping us safe.

If only he had tried to bring nail clippers or a bottle of water onto an airplane, he might have been stopped.

Thoguh: Or her decision to open the door while he was still in there, and set off the explosion could have saved 12 lives.

Just sayin'

Yes, this was a dumb comment. Even for Fark.
