I don't blame them really. You have a pill that makes people feel good, is it really a surprise that people would go to great lengths to get their hands on it? I blame the DEA and the drug war. Why not make it legal without a prescription? Opiates can't be that much worse than alcohol or cigarettes. People can decide for themselves what they want to do with their bodies.

I never really understood how someone can successfully rob a store using pepper spray.

It's a mild irritant at best.

That's so true. All those rich junkies out there with millions of dollars and all sorts of great insurance, just lining those doctors pockets as they spend, spend, spend on pharmaceuticals. I guess the junkies just have to steal whatever they get in order to keep up with appearances, and then send the doctors a check afterwards. It's a brilliant little scheme, really.

Exactly.

I thought the new, harder to shoot or snort oxys were a good idea, however, until recently - oxy abuse down, heroin up with new formula - maybe the answer is to just let the addicts have it so they don't resort to crime.

There is no law that a patient needs to take pain killers like these just because your doctor wants to prescribe them. You are allowed to "talk" to the doctor and indicate your reluctance and to request alternatives. You get hooked on these things, it is just as much your fault as the doctor's. It's called a doctor-patient "relationship" for a reason.
