I so rarely watch anything when it actually airs, the concept of good and bad time slots almost seems like an anachronism.

are you a witch?

No! Why do you say such a thing?

Because you have bewitched me...

That was quality dialogue if ever there was any...

So, like Desperate Housewives, only with a Don Knotts character and witches?

I think Tim Burton did a pretty creditable job with his movie.

which is precisely why it wouldn't work on network tv.
move that shiat to cable, where they can actually
deal with intelligent storylines and slow narratives
without CWing it

Orci and Kurtzman are on my mysterious plane crash wish list. Them, Lindelof and Abrams need to all take their "we don't care about the facts or the ending" style writing and throw it all into a wood chipper.

There are a lot of clever writers out there being nudged out of jobs for these lizard brain ticking hacks.

It was a pretty enjoyable film when it came out. But then Tim Burton directed Johnny Depp in about six more movies that had the same overall look, and feel (and all except Sweeny Todd having a Danny Elfman score)... I think Sleepy Hollow has retroactively suffered because of it.

Unfortunately you (and others with your viewing habits) don't matter AT ALL to the advertisers, and they are the ones who have final say over if a show lives or dies.

The duo's dramatic take on Sleepy Hollow is described as a modern-day supernatural thriller based on the 1820 short story in which Ichabod Crane partners with the town's local female sheriff to bring peace to a beleaguered community.

So it's not really The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, it's just two talentless hacks painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa.

So it'll have a good season or two, then drop off into discarding everything that made it interesting in favor of retarded soap opera drama, bore me to tears, and stick around for another 4?

Probably a good investment for the studio at least.

Nah, it's Fox. It'll be really good, but no one will watch it, and it will be canceled after 10 episodes, with 3 or 4 unaired. Then it will come out on DVD and people will discover it, and whine about it be canceled for a decade or more.

I'm curious to see how ridiculously, unnecessarily hot the female lead will be in this one. These guys have a good track record with that.

Who is being nudged out? All the clever writers that I enjoy the work of, well, they are all working pretty steadily. Sure,it may not be on commercial networks, but they certainly aren't out dancing for pennies down at the marina.
