Nah, every Price is Right episode from the modern run (1972-present) still exists. It's the 50s-60s version with Bill Cullen that has episodes that were wiped.

Maybe no one put two and two together until he started mentioning it on talk shows. Although I'd bet now that the hardcore crazies know to look out for it, someone will drag out their old VHS tape and upload it.

I think the people behind Breaking Bad started with the idea of writing a show about Aaron's character after seeing this. I can imagine it now:

"Man... I can't think of anything to write about."
"Look at this farking lunatic on Price is Right!"
"What the hell? Is he on meth?"
"That's it! Let's do a TV series about a meth addict who goes on the Price is Right!"
"But he doesn't know how to cook meth. It's kind of thin."
"Well, let's have his old high school Chem teacher be his buddy."
"Awesome!"
"Win!"
"Dude! The hookers are here with lunch."

Getting to the showcase showdown isn't that hard, considering that the showcase showdown is the big wheel. Of the 9 people who get called down to contestants row each game, only the three who are left there at the end of the show don't make it to the showcase showdown.
