Pre-rug Buddy cancelled the show after the Cincinnati disaster. And it does make you wonder, is a person who's been holding on to a ticket for 33 years for sentimental or historical value just going to show up with it and let it go just to see half the Who? I'm guessing not, personally....

I bet there will be a real stampede for these tickets.

The bad news is, you have to go to Providence. But if you decide to go anyways, then make a quick stop at Club Fantasies, say hi to Candy for me.

The Who kick ass. I would've loved to see them back in the day. Nowadays, meh.

Not the same without the French horn player anyway.

One ticket holder was quoted as saying "How I feel inside? Can't complain."

I love that place. Yeah, it will cost you a c-note for a VIP dance but there's more ball-handling in those twenty minutes than a Celtics game.

It woud seem Townsend and Daltry will keep on performing until they drop dead, too.

Charge of the Light Brigade esprit de corps attitude, I guess.

That's how I feel about the Stones. In their day (ending in the mid 70s) no one made more desperate, visceral, boozy rock and roll. I'd even call some of their output proto-punk. That's the sh*t no one hears unless they own the albums.

Now two entire generations, including my own, dismiss them (rightfully) after seeing them make asses of themselves at a Super Bowl. Thing is, kids should really listen to Exile or Sticky Fingers before writing them off as useless geezers. Any top 20 list of pure rock and roll albums should (and usually does) include both of them.

Especially Sticky Fingers. Goddammit I love nearly every raunchy, crunchy note on that album, especially "Can't You Hear Me Knocking"

//wasn't even alive when the best Stones albums came out
//this is the second thread I've kinda jacked tonight, sorry

Really? Nice of a generation to empower you like that. Roger and Pete have paid their dues, tough shiat if you can't handle that fact.

They should take only half the ticket due to the absence of John and Keith.

I have never seen the Who. Live at Leeds is such a farking amazing album... it would probably be painful to see what's left.

I'm also not crazy about arena shows either, which brings me to the Rolling Stones, whom I saw in '99 at the United Center. My friend and I were in the last row, as far back as you can get except for the row of folding chairs they had set up behind us. I love the Stones, but c'mon, they were old even back then and it's hard to enjoy anything from 500 ft away. I haven't been to an arena show since then.
