As a security measure, post-9/11, any clothing which conceals a guest's face is prohibited, including but not limited to, costumes and masks," explained Jay Alves, the Rockies' vice president of communications and public relations. "That would include bags over a guest's head."

Choose a comment:
1. The terrorists have won....but not the Rockies.
2. When paper bags are outlawed only outlaws will have paper bags.
3. This rule makes sense, because everyone knows the 9/11 terrorists wore paper bags on their heads.

Well if Dan O'Dowd read the "Lack of Real Leadership at Top of Franchise Forebodes a Crappy Season" memo at the time when it was presented to him...

See, you're just being silly.

Wearing a bag over your head is the perfect way to avoid any attention whatsoever. People see you, and it's like, "That guy has a bag on his head, it's like he's not even there" or "I wonder if I should be worried about that guy carrying that assault rifle and shotgun shoutin' phrases from the Bible? Nah, he's got a bag on his head!" It makes you invisible, I'm sure that's what they're afraid of.

/Idiot mode off
//This sounds exactly like when that whiny little biatch Dan Snyder decided to ban signs fans were carrying that disparaged him.

Hey, they took those from Lions fans of a few years back.

9/11 can be used for anything.

If you're to the point that you want to wear a bag over your head at the stadium, stop going to the stadium. If they are so shameful to you, why are you giving them money?

Wearing a paper bag is one of the great sports fan's traditions. It is our right to show our displeasure for our team as we pay hundreds of dollars on tickets/parking/beers to see loss after loss.

How else are we to show that we aren't happy with the franchise? Not go to games?

If the fans start wearing plastic bags on their heads there could be problems.

See, James Holmes could've wanted to go to a Rox game, but he couldn't wear his gas mask so he hit the movies instead...

Ok, one or two people wear paper bags on their head, file them out of the stadium on charges of weapons of mass destruction or whatever... what happens if like 10,000 people did it? More "court fees" for the coffers?

And yeah, not giving them money is the best form of protest. Then again if successful "their" team would probably just close up shop and move to a new city, start the whole process all over again.

Have they forgot "Who Dat?" during the NO Saints lousy years? Fans did wear bags on their heads.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. Their stadium threw out a fan after he threw a HR ball back on to the field earlier in the year.

/Yeah, he was rooting for the visitors and it was a Rockies HR but still
//Have family that work at the stadium here and they wouldn't do that.
/Oh yeah, what does it say behind home plate at Coors?

Padres have been mediocre for roughly three years now. The stadium is a ghost town now. I think 11,000 (in a 40k stadium) attended last game.

Gonna be happy when the Pads get sold to the O'Malley family +friends.

I was there on vacation 2 years ago when the Padres were in the hunt for the NL West title. Went to a game there in September when they hosted the Giants. The place wasn't half full and it was 60% Giants fans.

Whoever buys the team has a TON of work to do to get Padres fans in that stadium.

/which is a shame because I love that ballpark

The only real thing they have to do is start paying for actual talent. Once they start winning again, the fans will return, but until then, the Padres shall remain a triple A team masquerading as a MLB team.

/Coming in for (somebody you've never heard of), a random guy from the stands!
