Also, I think they should have bumped up Peter Dinklage to BEST ACTOR category.

Giancarlo Esposito should get the BEST SUPP DRAMA win.

I can't say it's a snub for this year, but how the hell did Hugh Laurie never once win an Emmy for Best Actor in a Drama in the last eight years?

Serious, but then again I do medical research. Any medical show is equally laughable when you look past the mellodrama.

In grad school, me peeps & I were watching THE X-FILES: Scully said she needed to do a Northern Blot so she could confront Congress in a couple hours. We all had a nice laugh at that.

It's extremely good. Some of the best acting, humor, and drama on TV, rolled into one package.

Olyphant is great as the lead, and he's surrounded by some of the best supporting actors in the business.

Walt Goggins should have walked away with supporting actor nominations for each season so far.

The only guy who got a nomination from the show this year is playing one of the best idiot criminals in the history of TV, by the way. Hilariously dumb.

One of these days I'll try to figure out why SOA has gotten scant attention from these award people. I assume it's the same for Justified. Then again, they are competing against each other.

Headey in "Blackwater" was simply fantastic, but the entire season was a step up for her from season one, with her portrait of a women slowly realizing her child is a monster.

Really, anyone who lost a spot to one of the five billion Modern Family actors was snubbed. Ridiculous to clog categories with that middle-of-the-road show.

I wonder if they even really wrote a script for her in that episode. Probably just gave her a shiat ton of wine and said improvise.

The first season had the usual early show hiccups but finished strong and season two is among the best seasons of a television program I've seen (up there with season 4 of The Wire) Season 3 was a bit of a drop off from that but still quality television.

And Cirby's correct. Walter Goggins is phenomenal and should have been nominated (still, I'd be shocked if anyone but Giancarlo Esposito wins that one)

I'm going to say it. The Walking Dead does not deserve an award whatsoever. Maybe best makeup for the walkers if that is a category. But thats it.

Justified is awesome. Must-see TV for me. FX has some damn good shows. The big four networks are lacking big time in quality. Raylan Givens is a bad ass. (Dig that scene where he throws a bullet at the guy and says "the next will be comin' at ya a bit faster.)

Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) is terrific. Dickie Bennett (Jeremy Davies, was also Daniel Farady from L OS T ) is very deserving of his Emmy nod. I think Giancarlo Esposito will win, but Jeremy Davies as Dickie is terrific.

There's a LOT of talent in Justified, especially last season. Neal McDonough (Quarles) and Jere Burns (Duffy) were especially great, and would be the only two contenders to go up against Esposito, I think. Goggins is one of my favorite actors but I think Quarles and Duffy stole the show in season 3.

Her various speeches as she lashes out and torments Sansa are somewhat paraphrased from the book, but the screenwriter (which was GRRM for that episode), got the really juicy and important bits of dialogue from the book into the show.

And I agree with the consensus that that episode was a high point for Headey's acting. Would have loved to see more nominations for Game of Thrones, as they've assembled a pretty good cast.

No love for Alfie? His portrayal of Theon and the heartbreaking decision he had to make was fantastic. "WHAT IS DEAD MAY NEVER DIE!"

George RR Martin wrote the script for that episode and it showed nicely.

As for Headey, I just can't see her as Cersei... maybe Meliswhatever or an older Asha, but not the walking Playmate that can turn on a nigh-unstoppable charm.

Now, Diana Riggs as the Queen of Thorns... that will be awesome

I've made several attempts to get through the first season of Sons of Anarchy and...I can't. It just isn't a good show. I highly doubt it's managed to improve enough to be the best show on television unless all of the characters were killed and an entirely new crew of people made an entirely different show but still used the same name.

MadMonk: Neal McDonough (Quarles) and Jere Burns (Duffy) were especially great,

Burns was solid as you'd expect a veteran character actor to be (he's been playing variations of Wynn Duffy his entire career).

I thought McDonough started out flat and really didn't come into his own until the last half of the season (and, yes, he was excellent in those last few episodes). Of course, that could just be audience (e.g. my) expectations. I think anyone they chose for the role was going to have a hard time considering he has to follow one of the finest performances in the history of television.

Completely agree, Mags was one of the best tv villains of all time in my book but I was just referring to this year. I think it's great that Quarles starts off a bit boring but becomes crazier and crazier and more desperate as the season continued. I also love the fact that Duffy was truly scared of him, where as in the past he was a fairly unshakable character, he's not even afraid of Raylan.

Well...until the season finale, that is. That was a great scene. Definitely hoping they can bring Duffy back for some more.

And if you haven't seen it, Jere Burns has been great on "Burn Notice" over that past couple of seasons.

One day, one room (I think that was the title) was brilliantly acted. While some was overdone, Laurie did some good work on the show.
