What happened to Sharon Gless? She's damn good on Burn Notice.

2012-07-19 12:45:23 PM
Dinklage deserved another nomination.

2012-07-19 12:55:04 PM
I enjoy Girls and Veep. Neither deserves a nomination. Parks & Rec absolutely should have been nominated. The Big Bang Theory is worse than Hitler.

John Cryer? Jesus wept.

And how can I choose between Mister Bates and Tyrion?

2012-07-19 01:04:26 PM
If Girls is one of the funniest shows on television I'll kiss your ass.

There is not one single likeable thing on that show. Not farking one.

Veep is awesome, but come on, better than Parks and Rec and Community? Not yet.

Fark The Big Bang Theory and Jim Parsons.

Downton Abby is going to win most of the drama categories...and it should.

Dinklage is pretty farking awesome though.

2012-07-19 01:21:33 PM
I'm sorry. I love Dinklage, but I gotta pull for Giancarlo Esposito. He played the f*ck out of Gus Fring last season.

2012-07-19 01:24:52 PM
And apparently they've designated "American Horror Story" as a "miniseries" so they can wedge Lange and Britton in so there are some more recognizable and popular faces among the nominees.

"Homeland" should win everything it's nominated for, and the Emmy nominators should be beaten with wet sacks of diseased badgers until they actually learn what "comedy" is.

2012-07-19 02:02:01 PM
Veep is awful. Just ... nothing likable about that show.
And The Big Bang Theory? Zzzzzz ...

I can think of two reasons why Community should have been nominated.

Oh, and it's a funny show, too.

mitchcumstein1: Fark The Big Bang Theory and Jim Parsons.

2012-07-19 03:24:27 PM
If they nominated Big Bang Theory for comedy it's pretty surprising the same people didn't nominate shiat like NCIS:LA for drama.

wee: I can think of two reasons why Community should have been nominated.

Hell yes, and hell yes.

I'm just afraid of how it's going to turn out when it returns in the fall. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.... but I fully expect a massive train wreck, or at the very least a much tamer and lamer show that I won't enjoy watching any more.

Blues_X: Dinklage deserved another nomination.

I thought he might be nominated in the Lead category this year. Best Supporting is still good though.

Oh, and Community? Newsflash - it isn't that good anymore, it doesn't deserve a nomination.

2012-07-19 03:28:34 PM
Loved Dinklage, and he deserved it last year, but Jack Gleeson stole this year as Joffrey.

/and where's Jack Huston's nomination?

Downton Abbey is light and fun, but it has no business being nominated for Best Drama. Yet, the show's many nominations make me fear that it will win bigtime.

Breaking Bad should win everything for which it is nominated. (Esposito over Paul in Best Supporting Actor category.)

Big Bang Theory was awesome for the first 2-3 seasons. I loved that it pointed out how clueless I was about physics, and that I could watch an episode a second time and catch a lot of subtle jokes I hadn't noticed.

I honestly believe 90% of people on the internet that reference "Schrodinger's Cat" only of know it because of the show (I had to google it, as well as some other obscure references.... I know, I know, you're so much smarter than I am and think the show falters somehow on intellectual integrity, blah blah...)

Anyways, I think the network had to dumb it down and introduce new female characters to reach more demographics. I still watch it, but it's a hollow shell of the show it once was.

Last season of "Community" wasn't that good. Still entertaining, but not fantastic like season 2.

How "The Adventures of Sheldon, the Highly Functioning Autistic Man" got nominated, I will never know.

2012-07-19 03:38:44 PM
hey cast of frasier cheers 30 rock modern family, STOP NOMINATING YOURSELVES! you have enough trophies!

I'm more upset that Louie got snubbed again.

I love Community, but this past season wasn't Emmy-worthy.

2012-07-19 03:41:28 PM
Predictable nominations for Drama. Mad Men will win again for best series, Cranston will win for best actor just like every other time they're nominated.

2012-07-19 03:41:57 PM
How the hell is Dinklage a supporting actor when he's given top billing?

2012-07-19 03:42:11 PM
At least they nailed the Drama category. Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones...

How do you even choose?!?

Tio Hector ftw, biatch.

Dinklage knows that he can't win against Bryan Cranston and Jon Hamm, so he submitted his nomination in a category he has a chance of winning.

Smart guy. I imagine it is better for his career to be Emmy award winning than emmy nominated.

I agree. I was pulling for Jesse then I realized he already won a few years back (and deservedly so, that was a brutal season for him).

They must of have shortened the title of that show. It was originally Ugly Girls Look Depressing, Aren't Remotely Funny. I gave it a shot, but all of the girls look alike and are so frumpy it's distracting.

2012-07-19 03:49:09 PM
Luther is well worth the watch. Sherlock should win that category, though.

Also, I like how they separate Reality shows from "Reality competition", though I don't know why they don't list the former category on their main list section.

That may be but Anna Chlumsky makes me feel all tingly. I've spent many a fun evening in the bunk thanks to her.

Still haven't seen any episodes of Veep. Heard nothing really good about it. But what about Anna? Has she aged well since My Girl?

It's political. The system can't reward Louis because he upset too many industry heavyweights.

Well... I did a quick search about what male actor has won three emmys.

It's bill cosby.

Community actually got a writing nod for "Remedial Chaos Theory". Actually, four of the five writing nominations went to shows that should have been nominated for Best Comedy (Louie, Parks & Rec, and Community).

Supporting Actor in a Drama is going to be a beast. You've got the last two winners (Aaron Paul and Peter Dinklage), a pantheon villain (Giancarlo Esposito), a guy who, while he didn't have a ton to do this season, had a great submission episode (Jared Harris), and a couple of guys from Downton Abbey, which has the potential to be a monster this year. Any of the guys could conceivably win, though my money's on Paul or Dinklage.

For the same reason that all of the Modern Family actors are considered "supporting" or that Missing and American Horror Story went to miniseries. Competition is tough in the lead slots, so they go where it's easiest.

2012-07-19 03:54:49 PM
I hope Louis CK wins best actor, comedy.

2012-07-19 03:57:12 PM
If you took ten pages out of a Nurse Jackie script, gave it to a group of readers and didn't tell them what it was and asked them if it was a comedy or a drama, nine out of ten of them wouldn't be able to identify it as a comedy.

That's all.

That seemed odd to me too, but also the inclusion of Luther and Sherlock.
