HailRobonia: ordinarysteve: I got a respectable 8 on that list. And vegetarianism leads to demonic possession?

It's because vegetarians are so fond of seitan.

When I joined Freemasonry I got into an email exchange with a pastor in Alexandria VA who lead a website that (was/is?) running a anti Freemason website. Man oh man I wish I could find those old emails... LOL's were had eventually he got mad that he couldnt win the argument and resorted to the old school yard practice of saying fark you and leaving.

Nice how postmodernism follows lycanthropy on this list.

Most of these I get, but postmodernism? Satan like ugly buildings?

I'm bewildered as to how vegetarianism could make it onto such a list. Weren't Adam and Eve the original vegetarians before they brought sin into the world?

Come to think of it, they were also nudists.

Beelzebub surely has an autographed first edition of Paul Auster's City of Glass.

Any literature which has a self-contradictory plot, which blurs the borders between reality and fiction, and in which the author himself is one of the main characters, is considered direct competition with the Bible.

2012-07-19 04:55:33 PM
Holy crap, I did 24 of those at one point or another. Interestingly, not easy ones like Burning man or Twilight, either... Guess I'll see you all in Hell.

ok, my score on that list was 26.

they kinda got me on that 'necromancy' issue....

Necromancy? How could using the satanic arts to raise the dead lead to an increased risk of demonic possession? Necromancers always seem so nice too, they're always ever so quiet.

I've never understood why D&D (or roleplaying games in general) are considered 'evil' by the religious right....

They usually feature magic that is clearly a made-up fantasy and not reality and you get used to dealing with it.
Kids might look at other stories featuring magic and automatically put them in the same "it's a made-up fantasy" box.

And a comparatively lame fantasy to boot. I mean, come on: you're a godling, it takes you three days to respawn and you apparently don't have any decent offensive spells?
Heck, under the older edition ruleset you could get stuff like "Flesh to Stone" and nuke-like giant area-of-effect spells like"Slay Firstborns", "Hailstorm", "Cloud of Locusts" and so on.
Granted, it always seemed a tad unbalanced to me, but they went overboard reworking their rules and the newer edition turned out to be completely neutered and lame by comparison

.
/ teens might wonder what class and level you have to be to get a spell for turning water into booze...

Bribing up broken AoE spells and not mentioning Locate City? Scrub.

I don't know that anyone is actually into "cyberpunk culture", but I've read Neuromancer, so I'm giving myself half a point. Also I've been to a rave but didn't take ecstasy (or XTC though I think I've heard their music). That's another half point. I think that only brings me to 8 points. Booo. :(

Well, if they're going with the biblical definition of necromancy they mean talking to the dead and asking then about the future. That's where the "Catholics are necromancers" thing comes from, that and banging ones head on the wall repeatedly.
