The ever-increasing expectation to release personal financial information is just another symptom of the liberal womanization of society.

Make your damn decision and leave his business out of it.

Right, because being one out of 535 members of Congress is totally the same as running for President.

So what you're saying is we should just take Romney at his word about his business acumen and experience?

Not. Farking. Likely.

Every politician running for office should be forced to release their tax returns for the past 5 years.

There. I said it.

For the same length of time as their term. Congress 2 years. Senate 6 years. President 4 years.

That works for me. I'm not particular about timeframe, although 2 years would be my absolute minimum.

FTFA: "Are you guys asking the president to turn over his college records? Or asking him to turn anything over of any kind?" an aide to Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.) asked.

While the two are about the same as grapes and grapefruit, it would be nice to see. I honestly don't know why Obama doesn't turn them over other than it's a waste of time.

Wait, George Romney, Mitt's father, was the one who set the standard of releasing 12 years of tax returns in the 1960s. So, Mitt Romney was raised by a liberal seeking to womenize society?!? Well, then, screw him! There ain't no way I'm voting for Mitt now!

While members of the executive branch are expected to release their tax records either while running for office or as part of the vetting process for Cabinet appointments, members of Congress aren't held to the same standard.

Who'da thunk?

People who write laws that potentially invade the nation's privacy should not be entitled to secrecy in their own financial dealings.

The 3% response rate was as predictable as it was pathetic.

*slow clap*

I would love to see Congress be forced to turn over their tax returns for the last decade, to be honest.

That said, we don't put that high of a standard of Congress-critters. Maybe we should, but we currently don't.

We do, however, hold candidates for the Presidency up to that high standard and anyone willing to run for the office should be prepared to be put under that microscope of public scrutiny.

I mean, seriously. You're running for the office of the Presidency of the United States of America. The single greatest military power the world has ever known, the strongest and most far reaching economy in the world, and home to the most pervasive culture that history has ever seen. If you think that you can just waltz in and take the big seat without having yourself, your family and your past studied in obscene detail, then you're just delusional.

I agree. I just love it when this shiat builds and then it's released and then the retards have to scramble for something else. Eventually they'll cross a line of pettiness that even the majority of Republicans will say "WTF, they went there?"

Ok, maybe not.

If you are running on the idea that you and people like you are Taxed Too Much!, then, yeah, I think I want to see your tax returns just to see if your perspective and judgment on the matter are reasonable. If you really are paying an effective rate of 15% or less year after year, then I'm going to start to doubt your judgment on the matter. If you refuse to show the tax returns, I'm just going to have to assume your judgment is defective.

On the other hand, I would also like to see from Romney a specific and detailed plan on how he expects to balance the budget while massively increasing military spending and cutting taxes. That's the real trick.

The more this debacle goes on the more I'm all for this.
