Hired some knucklehead grad who cost you a lot of money at your business? Graduated from there but now "underemployed"? Local resident just annoyed with increased traffic? Cut from the basketball team because of MJ's kid? Lost one too many bets? CEO of some farking company who didn't get that sweet, sweet partnership contract? Denied admission? Went to Rollins and that cute UCF chick turned you down?

I went there, long ago. Had many good profs. Tried. Got into grad school and now have a very decent job. Made some good connections there that really helped my career.

Eh... I saw that paper, and the data aren't really convincing. There's lots of noise in the data, in particular noise that is correlated in time with itself that can mimic the signal of a planet. I wouldn't be surprised if the paper needed to be retracted in a few years.

I think the authors took a gamble and they may be eating it later on.

They accidentally discovered a planet. Good for them. I started at UCF back in '97, when the comp engineering and comp science program were some of the best in the country. Heck, the original spam virus (Melissa) was created by a UCF student. Since then, I've graduated ('01, '05) and still work there. Now we focus more on seeing how big we can get rather than a great education. Yes we're still the only school in the country with a school of lasers, but that's about all we have going for us. Well that and 62,000 students (expecting 63-64 this fall).

I went to Florida State (90's) and later USF (early 2000's.) If it counts, I spent a lot of time getting drunk in Orlando with friends at UCF, so I'm kind of an honorary UCF student.
