rudemix: Much like milk and eggs, how will people ever learn of the Army's existence without commercials to let us know?

Are you suggesting that there aren't simply tons of people who never considered joining the Army until they saw a car with the word "Army" painted on it driving in circles?

I'm all for NASCAR spending more money on defense. Sometimes it keeps de cars from crashing into de stands.

Oh God no without PBS how the hell would I ever distract my kid so I have time to do dishes?

Can your kids count to Pepsi yet?

coeyagi: LarryDan43: People who can afford to go to sporting events these days have no reason to enter the military.

Sure the do. Those maxed out credit cards don't pay themselves.

Maybe what we need is a military credit card. Give out free t-shirts on college campuses for signing up. Max it out and miss a payment and you're enlisted.

I think "I only have a high school diploma and my second baby's on the way" is much more of a motivator for folks to join the military than a logo painted some redneck's car, so I'm not too concerned about the recruitment numbers.

100 to 200 million a year is small change in terms of the annual military budget but in lean times it does look like fat ready to be trimmed.

So our resident RWers are gonna hafta chose here between cutting government waste (allegedly their raison d'etre) and saying no to NASCAR?

Oh, joy!
