The water bottle is perfect for this story.

As my late grandfather used to say, "OH, HALIFAX!"

Well either that, or he was going for the exit and Tank couldn't bring him out of the Halimatrix....

Well, the bottom of his lungs was probably compressed by the bus.

Brian Yorke was guarding fresh cement

That sounds like an exciting job.

Countless times I've seen people running for a bus on icy, snow covered sidewalks. Trying to catch a bus that runs every 10 or 15 minutes. Occasionally someone falls under the wheels and it's on the news, but it's quickly forgotten within a week.

As long as there are people like me around who will grab a stick and etch a crudely drawn cock into your freshly laid cement it will be a necessary one.

Poor kid. As someone who has run across several lanes of traffic like a crazed banshee after more than a few city buses over the course of my life when I was younger, I can easily see how this can happen in the chaos of city traffic. I hope he's okay.

drove by the scene earlier tonight, the bus has to swing wide on Barrington and sharply cut it's wheels to go onto Spring Garden Rd. the bus that was moving away from him was suddenly very much coming toward him. hope he makes it. also hopefully other people will stop running out into traffic to catch these busses, they do come every 15 mintues or so, i've seen way too many near misses.

why can't halifax stick to sword-waving madmen and women complaining that their laptops keep getting stolen when they leave them in plain sight.

With a helpful picture of what someone getting run over by a bus would look like.

Ew.

Well, he caught it.

Sort of.

I just lower my dick and balls right into it, vertically. Your crude chicken scratch might play in the sticks, but this is Capitol City.

/one day I will actually do this...I'm dead serious.

By 7 p.m., the bus - 80 Sackville - was still blocking the middle of the intersection. An officer with the police forensic identification unit speculated it would remain in place for a couple of more hours.

These "reporters" are great. They just wrote down everything that whatever jerk on the street was willing to tell them.

Yorke said the boy had stopped yelling by the time paramedics got him into the back of an ambulance. He speculated the victim had been given something for his pain.

Well thank god for that.

Eww..patubtub.

Terrible intersection and if the bus was rounding the corner, there was no way he was going to catch it. I feel bad for the driver and passengers, as well as the kid.

was on that intersection at barrington yesterday waiting for the #1 around 6pm. i didn't know at the time what was going on & only found out late last night. being from toronto & montreal, i thought someone was assaulted on the bus. i'm thinking the reason he was running is that the HRM buses on average (from what i'm told) tend to be wide off the mark on their stop schedules, it's not unusual to wait up to 30 minutes for a bus, and he didn't want to chance it.

Yes, the only mass transit that fails to connect at hubs on an consistent basis - Plus the 80 can be a long ride, so I can see it (unlike the driver, who failed to see him)

That intersection is pretty shiatty, I can definitely see how this could happen.

(I'm only commenting on this because I'm excited to see other Haligonians on here. Hi!)
