peterthx: 3D done well is good.3D "conversions"...usually not so good. It's a "new" format to most filmmakers, it will take time to adapt and learn. We'll never get to holographic movies without it.
slotz: Lost Thought 00: As someone who is unable to see the "3D" part of 3D movies, I have to thank Mr. Nolan.I, too, have never been able to see what others are seeing, apparently. So "bah, humbug" and all that.
The All-Powerful Atheismo: FloydA: Angry Drunk Bureaucrat: Just because 3D *can* be used doesn't mean it *must* be used./Personally, I'm waiting for the 3D remastering of My Dinner with Andre.I'm waiting for the 3D Debbie Does Dallas.I'm waiting for the 3D Flatland.
Romanes Eunt Domus: parkerlewis: If Batman gets credit for killing 3D, I'm ok with that. He's not going to kill it but he doesn't have to save it.
scottydoesntknow: And I certainly don't want to shoot in a format just to charge people a higher ticket price."So I'm assuming this will be his last Hollywood picture? I love you Mr. Nolan, but if there's one thing a studio cares more about than the satisfaction of the consumer, it's making money.
Klippoklondike: I liked 3D for Avatar and Tron. They both used it well. Other than that it is over-used.
foo monkey: Klippoklondike: I liked 3D for Avatar and Tron. They both used it well. Other than that it is over-used.Hugo. Jackass 3d. How to train your dragon. The new 3d tech is great, but most 3d movies suck. Most of them are poor renders with gimmick effects. The movies I listed used 3d to pull the movie out of the screen an pull the viewer into the movie. Hugo was amazing in 3d. That's why it won Best Director. Roger Ebert raved over Jackass 3d, because the director knew exactly how and when to use the 3d tech. Most 3d movies add nothing over 2d. Nolan knows this. He focuses his efforts elsewhere. I hope he gives it a try one say. After what Martin S. did, I'd love to see Nolan's take on 3d.
slotz: Eapoe6: Live theatre is in 3D. Broadway makes bad musicals out of bad movies. So if you want to see something in 3D, wait for Broadway to produce it and then wait for your local theatre to produce a version with local talent.Viola! 3D. Headache still likely.[math.fau.edu image 425x283]= 3D?

UCFRoadWarrior: 3D died after the 1950s...and it will die again.
PainInTheASP: Thank god 3D is dying. So does this mean we don't have to suffer through another Star Wars "refresh"?/Pipe dream, I know.
Orgasmatron138: I'm getting to the point where I can't wait for GL to die. You know someone will be happy to take my money for the original, unfarked-with episodes 4-6 scrubbed up on Bluray.

AdolfOliverPanties: Good use of [img1.fark.net image 54x11].3D sucks.
a flock of birds: There have been a decent number of movies that have used 3D beautifully.I've noticed that people who complain about 3D either have glasses or they're poor and too stupid/ethical to not just save a pair of glasses and buy tickets for a 2D movie. Or they're eyes are farked up.It's funny to me that people think it's going to go away and stay away anytime soon. Technology is advancing quickly. By the time 3D truly becomes unprofitable, a new version will be introduced and a resurgence of interest will follow.
saturn badger: /choices//I like choices
F42: saturn badger: /choices//I like choicesi wanna see Brave, but it's only in 2D at one in the afternoon, the rest of the day is nausea-inducing-only.I like choices. The 3D fad is limiting my choices.
BiblioTech: The Stealth Hippopotamus: As someone that wears glasses I would like to thank you.THIS. The whole glasses on top of glasses thing drives me nuts.
ronin7: Im still waiting for this color fad to end. I mean christ its so unnecessary. Sure a few films used it successfully, like Wizard of Oz, but besides that its usually just tacked on as an escuse to raise your ticket prize another nickel.Escuse the snark and what not. Although for those with terrible 3d movie experiences. I have to say I usually love my movies in 3-d, but I saw spider-man last week in one of the other theaters in town. And the experience was awesome. Terrible dirty, ill fitting DARK glasses that seemed to result in a very dark blurry movie where the 3-D effects didn't seem very impressive at all. Where as my normal theater usually looks great, even with shiatty moves like Wraith of the Titans. I wish I knew what the difference between the two theaters were because it was like night and day.
