MadMonk: So, when do we start to hear the cries of "Tea Party Uber Alles!"?

There's been a slight delay while they try to figure out a way to goosestep while riding a hoverround.

"You have a gay rights organization, and an immigration organization defending a Republican governor. How crazy is that? Maybe not crazy - how unusual is that?" Mallory said. "Personally, I want Gov. Haslam to be successful. And I want Gov. Haslam to fire some liberal Democrats and replace them with conservative Republicans. That's what I would like to see."

It's simply unacceptable. If gays and illegals agree with a republican, it's time for them to start moving the line a bit, huh?

per the Teahadists: we cannot agree. if we agree, we must change the rules so we don't agree because dems=gays=illegals=socialists=fartbama=death-to-america

Ummm...I was under the impression that it was illegal not to hire someone based on their religious beliefs.

Just sayin'

I guess equal opportunity means dick to these guys.

Can we start calling them fascists now?

Oh, and this is sad:

FTA "We stand behind our governor, Gov. Bill Haslam, 100 percent," state Republican Party Chairman Chris Devaney told TPM. "We do think, while the county parties are certainly free to pass such resolutions, that they're distracting during an election year."

Translation: We're trying to win here, stop showcasing the crazy in our ranks. Polls show it's going to cost us a lot of votes. Wait until the spotlight has moved on.

PreMortem: Evangelical fundamentalists have taken over my TEA Party? It's more likely than you think.

/Would be laughable if not so scary

Once FOX and their handlers got involved, the original (and largely unheard of) Tea Party didn't stand a chance. It's cute that they tried to stretch that whole "we only care about the budget, and are non-partisan" line of sh*t for as long as they did.

Imagine that I started a small band of people pushing for single-payer health care, and sold it to insurance companies in exchange for greater visibility. What's the worse that could happen?

And now I have a picture in my head of a batallion of hoverounds, each carrying a 400-pound lardbody with atrophied legs, raising their front wheels every half-step, simulating a squad of German stormtroopers. The hoverounds will need to be powered with dilithium crystals, otherwise it will not work.

alywa: Sure, guffaw all you want libs. TN is taking on the problem most other states have been afraid to approach out of fears of upsetting the political correctness demanded by libtards and the MSM.

1. They are the only state to pass Anti-Sharia Law statuates which would imprisson Islams to 15 years in jail for practicing their treasonous poison.

2. TN, more than any other state, experienced first hand what the muzzies are up to during 9/11. Link Can you imagine forever having your baby's birthday linked to such a horrific day? The odds of that are a million to one, and it's a damn shame.

3. Nashville is an obvious target due to the brave speaking out by our Country and Western stars (well, most of them... I'm looking at you Dixie Chickens)... but of course, Hollywood wants nothing to do with the music Real America listens to, so just let the Grand Ol Oprey be torn down to make another mosque, right libs?

4. Listen to these 2 quotes, and decide who's side you want to be on...

"Only in the Roman Empire and in Spain under Arab domination has culture been a potent factor. Under the Arab, the standard attained was wholly admirable; to [Islamic] Spain flocked the greatest scientists, thinkers, astronomers, and mathematicians of the world, and side by side there flourished a spirit of sweet human tolerance and a sense of purist chivalry. Then with the advent of Christianity, came the barbarians. Had Charles Martel not been victorious at Poitiers-already you see the world had already fallen into the hands of the Jews, so gutless a thing Christianity!"

"Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytising faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science - the science against which it had vainly struggled - the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome."

One is Hitler, one is Winsten Churchills... Which side do you want to be on libs?

Keep fighting the good fight TN!!! Don't become another Michegan!!!

Heh. Their top priority is to fight the Dems, not each other? It's not improving the Great State of Tennessee?

And what a bunch of racist crackers. Firing all "liberals and Democrats as well"? What pricks. And I'm sure, if you asked them if they'd be fine with a Democratic governor firing all suspected conservative Republicans, they'd be fine with that too, right?

2012-07-18 12:30:14 PM
The Tea Party is showing it's true colors. Sure, it may have started out without a racist, homophobic, fascist, cowardly agenda, but it was comprised of the same racist, homophobic, fascist, cowards that have been part of the "Republican Base" for the past 20 years.

Conservatism is for the selfish, cowardly, stupid, and greedy. It exists only to oppose progress towards a just and prosperous society, and as such will always lose. That's why conservatives are so vicious. They're the stormtroopers from Star Wars, Orcs from LOTR, they only exist to lose.

Ummon: "Sharia compliant finance."?

WTF?

I mean, it is a thing. Since usury and certain types of fees are prohibited under many interpretations of Islamic law, a separate set of banking practices are often found in Muslim countries. (wikipedia)

That being said, three things:

1. She doesn't seem to be trained in Islamic Finance, based on the CV presented in the article.
2. I'm not sure I'd object to people in government studying how other institutions have managed to stay afloat without exploiting people for profit.
3. "Oh god, no! Save me from interest-free loans!"

nashville is considered a liberal haven in TN, hell any densely populated area of the state except for Knoxville could be considered a liberal haven - it's the reason there's been so much friction over the Murfreesboro Mosque - Murfreesboro itself is a diverse college town but the county it's in is full of tea bagger morons

the state is weird like that, eastern TN was pro-union in the civil war to the point of declaring themselves not part of TN, they had tons of big federal projects during the Roosevelt era but today one could consider it as southern and redneck as it gets, middle TN has always been divided, western TN has about as much in common with Memphis as Memphis has in common with the rest of the state - nill

so sure, there are lots of annoying viewpoints, best thing you can do is ignore them much in the same way tea baggers don't represent the United States as a whole either

ha-ha-guy: Only the Teatards could look a picture of a woman with her face visible, no veil, and an unbuttoned shirt (only one or two more to go until you see cleavage) and scream "Sharia Law!". Does these clowns have any idea what they're talking about?

That's because these people see a grave threat behind every tree. By definition, they're sissies. Horrible thing, to live in fear every day. It's precisely what those terrorists wanted.

In utterly predictable fashion, they ascribe general weakness to liberals. The "take your worst flaw and accuse your enemy of it" tactic is why you see so many pictures of projectors in the politics tab. The overall undercurrent of their language has been that liberals are too wimpy to take the bull by the horns. About the only wimps I see are teabaggers terrified of their own shadows. It's sad (but also amusing) to watch them spend so much time on things that make them feel strong (military worship, 2nd Amendment, constant references to our brave Founding Fathers). Sorry, but from where I sit it's all the American people who decided not to sh*t themselves following 9/11 who are packing the gear to hold the fabric of America together.

Man up, Nancy.

BTW, I am highly amused that the Obama administration completely stripped the GOP of their reliable "We'll all die in a foreign attack if you vote Democrat" platform. If anyone reading this is very young, it has been a key plank of bullsh*t for decades now. And now it's gone. Obama kills everything he sees.

I am very excited to offer this new service and can begin immediatley. Are you sure that your finnaces are not Sharia law compliant? Stand proudly with the Christian Heritage of this great nation and stand against the radical Islamists. Ensure that you have not, even by happenstance, fallen into the trap of using Sharia approved money management skills. Simply email or fed ex me copies of your most recent financial statements as well the small fee of one hundred dollars.

I will review the documents and ensure that you are not following the rules of Sharia, and if you are will give you a detailed plan to rennouce your heathen ways.

Whose side do you wish to be on when Jesus returns the great American tradition or the Arhabs

That's how I feel about New Orleans and Louisiana. But even though I live in a fun, permissive, and mostly liberal town, I'm still subject to state law, and national embarrassment. So are you.

Seriously, we (Louisiana) are using tax dollars to send kids to Christian schools. The school that has received the most 'scholarships' has a DVD-centric 'curriculum,' window-less classrooms and no library. There is plenty of talk of barring Muslim-affiliated schools from participating in the program, which most of us would find amusing if not for being so farking sad. Some of our Reps. are on the vanguard of doing everything possible to make abortion unobtainable short of being able to overturn the ruling itself. We're circling the drain in nearly every statistic that matters, and offer only more derptastic and already failed solutions to everything. But hey, Jesus!

And don't get me started on volcanoes.

At least by living in NOLA, I don't have to encounter too many religious teabaggers on the streets. Drunks, hookers, gutter punks, hipster douchebags, hapless tourists, rude and outright untrustworthy cops, open-mic poetry nights, discarded crawfish shells, people who think they're vampires, and some guy trying to piss on my stoop until I turn the high-pressure hose on him...but no teabaggers.

The Terrorist Next Door by Daniel Levitas is an enthralling and relevant read. Granted, it focuses on antisemitism and not racism or homo-, lib-, or Islamophobia, but the derp is basically identical.

Or, in order to see how current derp descended from classic derp without waiting for the library to deliver your dead-tree doorstop, take the derp and replace "gay", "Muslim","immigrant", or "Dem" with "Jew" or "Negro". Why not? The reverse is all the derpers did.

Choosing to live your life by a certain set of religious standards isn't Un-Constitutional.

In fact, it's literally the exact opposite - it's one of the few things that the Constitution *explicitly* protects, and was deemed so important by the people who wrote the thing that they put it as one of the first things on there.

I was one of the first members of the South Carolina Tea Party, and one of the first four local coordinators for Columbia SC, back in early '10. I stayed in that post for all of six months before I quit. When it started, we had folks from all groups, mostly businessmen, and our goal was to cut taxes for everyone and on everything. Then the herpaderp started and all of a sudden the one black coordinator was gone, the one Korean coordinator (me) was gone, and instead of pushing for low taxes and a balanced budget, the party is pushing to be gun-toting, illegal hating, Bible thumping gay bashing Fox personalities. Breaks my heart that something with such potential was corrupted so badly.

What this is I don't even...

Muslims can't use credit in the same manner as other people under the strictest intrerpretations of their religion. So what they need is more of a service. Instead of getting a individual loan for a significant capital expenditure, my understanding is that instead they need to have someone buy it for them, and then they lease to own. It's a practically insignificant difference, but I believe that is what the hillbilly was refering to with all the grace and insight typical of one of his inbreeding.

What you wrote is more-or-less ways muslims deal with interest, which they're not allowed to do. Yes, that's pretty much Shari'a law with regards to finance. What these hillbillies are against is a muslim woman working in the finance department of the state, even though she was taught standard US-compliant, interest charging (or paying) financial programs. She can't enact Shari'a based finance because the other parties are not used to it, so they'll go, "Uh, can't you just put 10% down, amortize the remainder over 20 years?"

born_yesterday: Shrugging Atlas: The US fought and won the Civil War for THIS?

Sherman showed them far too much mercy.

I'd say Sherman showed them (and the rest of the country) not enough mercy. Being merciful in this situation would have been to completely kill each and everyone of them.
