When he wanted to be vice president he was willing to let the people deciding that see 23 years of tax returns.

When he wants to be president, he's not willing to let the people deciding that see more than 2 years.

This is untenable. There's no way out of this but to release more tax returns. It's amazing Romney keeps this going.

Fart_Machine: I was always under the impression that McCain hated Romney ever since he ran against him in the Primaries.

To be fair, like most white men of his generation, McCain hates pretty much everyone, including his wife, kids and dog.

sammyk: I am really enjoying watching the entire Republican party stumble all over themselves on the messaging war. Normally they run a tight ship with messaging. Lately they suck and its awesome.

Part of it is that Obama switched the style of campaigning he did from last time around. He's using their tactics and they have no idea how to respond properly.

Whoa whoa whoa. Everyone just calm down now. This isn't anything to get all worked up about. It's just making fun of Republicans, something everyone can enjoy. Let's stop trying to make it into something serious that could cause a real fight, like video games. This ain't the Geek tab for crying out loud. Let's be civil.

To be fair, he released them to McCain's vetting staff, who were likely asked to sign non-disclosures (note that none of the info has leaked).

But the fact that he seems to think he's going to get out of releasing the info means that he's either out of touch, or hoping to put it out so late that no one will have a chance to sort through it.

Or there's the double-blind: Obama already has the returns (leaked by someone in McCain or Romney's camp), and McCain is hoping he leaks them so he can claim that Obama obtained them illegally from the IRS.

My grandmother kept sending me those Bible-themed "Wisdom Tree" games when I was a kid. Nearly all of them sucked, but "Spiritual Warfare" was surprisingly fun. Of course, the fact that it was a blatant ripoff of the original "Legend of Zelda" might have had something to do with that.

More than once: he made nice with Bush after Rove sunk his campaign in 2000, he chose Palin against his own better judgment, and he sold out to the Tea Party the last time he got elected, just to stay in office.

/It makes me respect Barry Goldwater, who stood by his principles to the end (wacky as some of them were).

He has the popular vote within 4% as well. The electoral college is a bit more in favor of O-Bomb at the moment, but it makes you wonder what things would look like with a competent GOP presidential campaign...

I know you just love being difficult, but every recent poll that's not by Rasmussen shows Obama with a narrow lead. Realclearpolitics shows him with a 2-point lead when averaging multiple polls together, as well as a lead in all of the swing states that matter.

LOL. A Rasmussen poll. Might as well ask Romney's mother what she thinks about his chances.

Gallup, Reuters and Pew all have Obama in the lead by 2-7 points.

Here's an interesting graph from today, though. Wonder what's causing that sudden dip these past two weeks?

For that, they would have needed a competent CANDIDATE. None of the Republican frontrunners during the primaries would be doing any better. Keep in mind, Romney out-campaigned all of the other GOP hopefuls. This is the most competent campaigner they have.
