Don't forget the ticks, deer, wood, dog, and all they bring to the party.

/Deer: vermin of the forest.

Moral of the story: Don't hold a deer's head underwater.

Stevens says the deer rose on its hind legs, knocking her in the cheek with one hoof and on the shoulder with the other, before she pushed it away. She placed the animal's head in a bucket of water

1) get kicked by deer
2) push the deer away
3) place the deer's head in a bucket of water

Isn't there at least one step missing between 2 and 3?

She placed the animal's head in a bucket of water

Uh, why did she put it's head in a bucket of water? And if this thing was kicking her ass how did she manage to do that anyway?

Gilligann: Uh, why did she put it's head in a bucket of water?

To terrorize it in revenge for the kick. They don't call it HYDROphobia for nothing.

Obviously the bucket of water was the most interesting portion of the story.

What a deer head in a bucket of water may look like

Some girls were attacked by a suspected rabid beaver around here this weekend.

I was giggling like a school girl everytime they said "rabid beaver" on the news.

Whatever.

Here's a better story.

It still does not explain the bucket of water.

It looked emaciated etc. They were trying to give it water. Rednecks don't understand, or have a poor grasp of the English language.

Here is another version of the story provided by my local newspaper..

And about the bucket of water.....

"When the Stevenses went back outside, the doe was lying beneath their Toyota Corolla.
"I got it a bucket of water and it stuck its head in it," Stevens said. "Larry got some video of the deer under the car." "
