That reminds me of when my brother moved out to Cali and got a high paying job with a tech company. He's home for Thanksgiving and looking at all my stuff going "How do you afford all this? I couldn't afford half of this and I make 25k more than you per year". He paid 34k more than me in taxes and rental expenses for his place in down SanFran than I paid for my ranch house in Michigan. Of course he was living in SanFran while I was living at Warren, so it definitely wasn't all in my favor.
