No problem. Move to foreign country, get a job, relieve some of the over-population gridlock we have in Amercia. Win-win!

What evidence do you have that Kim Clausing (the economist cited in the article) is a Keynesian economist? Additionally, what evidence do you have that all Keynesian economists are partisan?

Hydra: /Keynesians are never nonpartisan

That's not true. The biggest distinction in most business schools is they give you a philosophy degree in the arts if you study Hayek and the Austrians, and they give you a degree in the sciences if you study Keynes and empirical Econometrics.

Most of my classmates were conservatives. But we were interested in studying provable economics, not philosophy.

cameroncrazy1984: Additionally, what evidence do you have that all Keynesian economists are partisan?

Well, I'm a conservative partisan and I don't have any problem with Keynesian models that have been proven true. So I guess his point isn't really falsified, if you include every economist as having one of two partisan tilts.

Romney would eliminate all taxes on the foreign profits of U.S. companies...
Eliminating taxes on foreign profits could create 800,000 jobs overseas...
Romney's plan would also undercut the U.S. tax base...

So basically Obama has 3 points to his argument:
1) Romney will lower taxes.
2) Romney will lower taxes.
3) Romney will lower taxes.

I mean, I definitely agree that those are taxes that should be paid, but it sounds like a lot of people are going to read this the wrong way.

I think he is just about the most removed candidate the GOP has put up in a while. He isn't stupid, he just has absolutely zero connection with anyone outside his ultra-elite circle. When people react badly to him or his message, he just kind of smiles a bit and gives the "Oh, well" face. He simply dosen't give a shiat.

The local talk radio assbag said this is just Mitt Romney spreading the power of American Capitalism to raise the standard of living in other countries, and liberals who oppose the plan are colonial racists who want to keep other countries in poverty.

I can't wait for the dozens of callers who'll scream at him for saying the colonists were racists

i don't mind a policy that makes global expansion of american companies easier as long as it doesn't adversely affect domestic jobs. it seems to me that romney's plan would remove a barrier for using foreign profits to fund domestic growth. if anything, romney's plan should increase US jobs, no?

One thing that really annoys me about the GOP platform was the adoption of selective Neo-Conservative ideologies. This, for example, is one of them. There are good people out there who really want to end poverty. They believe that self-sufficiency and healthy investments will do the trick. However, this has been hijacked by the GOP, and now it is used as an excuse for exploitation of labor in third world countries.

Thank you. I am not a destroyer of companies. I am a liberator of them! The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA. Thank you very much.

I believe the correct terminology would be "uncharismatic"

I have my biases, so I do not want to label him as such, as that would be unfair. But if there was someone who could set their own biases aside better than myself, I would love to hear what they think.

If Obama thinks he is going to bring the overseas jobs back to the US by revising the tax code, he is a bigger idiot than Joe Biden and Romney combined.

To get companies back, you would have to give them EPA, OSHA, Tax, Minimum wage and export breaks.

Ross Perot was right: Jobs would move out of the US following NAFTA. And after GATT, they moved further away.

Why would APPLE build their IPADs here when they can pay a semi-skilled worker that will work or be killed by his government $1/hour.

Who here would spend $1500 on an IPAD or IPHONE?

No, like the society Taylor discovered during his journey, we did it to ourselves.

It sounds great to people who don't believe in paying taxes, yet want all the services and perks a taxed economy provides. Like, you know, big businesses who don't want to pay corporate taxes, wealthy people who don't want to pay income taxes, and anyone who things "capital gains tax" is a four-letter word.
