oh yeah, Michael Biehn. totally should have been on there.

Michael Ironside too.

Ironside is known for dying in almost every movie he's ever been in. I've always thought that someone in Hollywood had it in for him.

It's like "Hey what about Michael Ironside? He'd be perfect!"
"No, only if he dies. I love seeing that smug bastard get what he deserves!"

Didn't die in The Perfect Storm. Just lost an expensive swordfish boat that he didn't maintain well.

You must've missed the deleted scene where the local mafia shows up and double taps him for missed loan payments on the boats.

Must've been on the director's cut.

AliceBToklasLives: James Hong is "that guy" -- no one else comes close.

You could play maybe "Two Degrees of James Hong", but that's about it. Actually, if he was ever in a movie with Kevin Bacon, that just makes the whole game too easy.

The best part of Mark Wahlberg's "Contraband" was seeing the Farmer's Insurance guy playing the part of the ship captain.

Nem Wan: FirstNationalBastard: He's been on Law and Order!

Everybody has been on Law and Order. Slight exaggeration, but I thought every New York actor wanted that show on their resume.

Alright, "he was a long running recurring character on Law and Order" is more appropriate since you are correct that every actor in New York was on L&O.

Yes! Michael Ironside! I was just about to do a google search for this guy. He was in everything when I was a kid, but I never knew his name.

I always thought he was a pretty decent actor too. Played awesome bad-guys.

Is that the "ass to ass" guy from Requiem For A Dream?

No, Hickey died three years before Requiem for a Dream came out. He was nominated for an Oscar for playing Don Corrado Prizzi in Prizzi's Honour, was the senile & deaf old Uncle Lewis in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, the self-described failure in the bar near the end of the original The Producers when Max & Leo toast what they think is their failed production ("To failure!" "To failure!" "Oh, thank you."), Old Man Beckersted in One Crazy Summer and many many more. While starting in the 1950s, he worked constantly in the 80s and 90s.

Late 60's/early 70's TV, if you needed a guy who was either a) a hopeless drunk on the edge of DTs or b) on the verge of a nervous breakdown, this was That Guy:

i115.photobucket.com

which is why he was PERFECT as Decker.

Somebody mentioned Burt Mustin being on Dragnet a couple of times...well....NObody appeared on Dragnet just once. Webb basically had his own little rep company - most of whom were his drinking buddies. Guys like Olan Soule, Barney Phillips and Art Ballinger showed up five or six times a year. Or if you were lucky like This Guy

i115.photobucket.com

you worked it into a regular gig on Adam 12, and THEN after A-12 ends, you get a regular gig on EMERGENCY, Webb's OTHER show.

He even showed up a couple of times on TNG as a cop! (name was William Boyett btw)

And lets not forget 70's sitcom's favorite neurotic:

i115.photobucket.com

and their favorite dirty old man, either

Heyyyy, 1980s reminds me of another:

Keith Gordon
unrealitymag.com
You couldn't watch a movie in the mid-80s without seeing him playing an emotionally intense dork. He was in practically everything from 1979 until 1991. Carrie, Back to School, The Legend of Billy Jean, Dressed to Kill. He's now mostly a director, and apparently in high demand.

Meanwhile, the go-to guy for playing a goofus in the mid-80s was Tom Villard.

I've seen Ribisi in a number of films and I'm impressed with the breadth of his acting ability. The last two roles of his that I've seen are Moberg in the Rum Diaries and Kendall in Basic. it's hard to tell that it is the same person for both. Couple that with his performance in Tykwer's Heaven and you have one good actor.

Also suspicious this is a thread stolen from TvTropes, and leaves out Mako, Lance Hendriksen, and Al Leong (sorry for continuing the 80s theme) Trying to remember the hispanic actress that was a maid in like 800 films from 1940 on... and the guy that was the Irish cop in like a zillion movies from the same period.
