I like the show, but everytime it flashes to him talking to his kids it kills it. Those kids are going to need some massive therapy after having heard about every one of their father's sexual escapades before he met their mother. They should call the last season "How Child Protection Took Away My Children".

sexual escapades aside, when are they going to figure out that their dad has 2 voices...jason segal and bob saget?

Obvious answer: In the last season Ted meets Bob Saget and has a sex change operation so they can be together. The story is really about how Ted "met" his true self. The kids are adopted.

Le Grand Inquisitor: My dream scenario is he "meets" the mother next season, then perhaps the ninth season is build up to marriage/she geta preggers/climactic plot point.

How about he meets some woman for the first time, says "hi" and the series abruptly ends?

There's no way they can renew the show if none of the actors are willing to come back. Jason Segal has no reason in the world to come back, and Cobie Smulders is part of the Marvel package now so she's pretty set regardless. I love the show, but the only way I'd ever watch a ninth season is if they wrap up Ted's story at the end of Season 8 and just have Season 9 be Barney's adventures. "How I Met Your Mother, and Yours, and Then Yours, and We'll Get to Yours Later.:"
