Ok, I chuckled.

Nice headline, subs

Cool.

Can we nail him to it now?

You know, just to be authentic and stuff?

*jpeg of boy with cross doing cartwheels down a highway*

LOOK AT ME I'M A MARTYR BORE!

This dude cheated. Jesus' cross didn't have wheels.

2012-07-16 12:13:04 PM
Quick, someone drape a flag around him.

He'd probably love it. GET TO PERSECUTIN!

You got that right.

I guess you could do worse things with your time than drag a cross halfway across the country, probably quite an adventure where you'd meet some characters along the way.

2012-07-16 02:00:27 PM
Why was the cross bearing a teen?

How does an ark build a teen?

But then ... month-long?

O.0

I can't even get my 15-year old son to pick up a wet towel off his bedroom floor! I guess the power of Christ compels him to leave it there.

Somebody should ask him if he did this because Obama said gays should have the right to marry.

And a comfy shoulder pad.

I'd be more impressed if he climbed up on it.

People like this are why I weep for America

Jesus Christ, that's some pretty impressive attention whoring.

2012-07-16 02:07:00 PM
Well, we all have our cross to bear.

Training wheels for a pretend martyr - just another part of the moral decay of society.

2012-07-16 02:08:26 PM
I thought teens were always bearing crosses because their life is soooo hard and unfair.

2012-07-16 02:08:55 PM
Pretty good time though. It seems like it should take more than a month to walk from Fort Worth to DC. That's over 45 miles a day.

StrangeQ: Somebody should ask him if he did this because Obama said gays should have the right to marry.

Probably:
"I think its awesome," said Oasis Church member Chuck Mays. "It's not for attention to himself. What he's wanting is to bring this country back to the founding principles it was formed on which is the cross of Jesus Christ. And that was his whole motivation for the whole thing."

"Our country is in a serious moral decay," the pastor told the congregation over the PA system as they waited. "And that is what this journey is about."

Ah, the good old ambiguous "moral decay." I'd be curious to hear exactly which morals he thinks are decaying and how.

That reminded me of something. Years ago, it wasn't unusual to see some guy lugging a huge cross along the highways.

I think the back end was on wheels but there were these guys who occasionally passed through, often dressed in robes and especially around Easter, hauling a big cross somewhere. They never had anyone with them from what I can recall.

There's a guy in my town who walks up and down two major roads wearing white rags (sometimes covered in 'blood') and carrying a cross with the flag of Israel hanging from it. I've looked around online to see if I could find his story (as I don't feel like dealing with crazy asking him myself) and the only reference I can find is a twitter comment from 3 years ago... which means he's been walking the same ~10 mile square almost every day for at least three years.

Not sure of the point of my csb, other than now I kinda want to see an epic battle between the two.

2012-07-16 02:12:28 PM
Did his original plan involve setting it up on the White House lawn and burning it?

Always look on the bright side of life.

But he will have to get off soon so we have room to nail the next one up!

Probably as part of a passion play. It would make sense since you said it was around Easter.

No it's actually about people with no real problems in his life and this is the result.

At least he's not killing people and having his homies record it on their cell phones.

A 19 year old walking with a piece of wood does not make me particularly want to be a better person. It's weird.

God allowed both of these events to happen, right? It's OK with him.

I'm guessing they would revolve around the old testament type that the original guy with a cross specifically mentioned coming to abolish.

I was thinking wow he carried a huge cross from Texas to DC and then I read that it had wheels. Kind of diminishes it now.

Someone should walk a long way carrying a vial of the malaria "bugs" that god created for us, or the Ebola virus. Or polio. Or the plague. Any of those, they all prove god loves us.

Did he at least generate some money for charity or was this a complete waste of time??

What he's wanting is to bring this country back to the founding principles it was formed on which is the cross of Jesus Christ.

The Treaty of Tripoli, among other things, says otherwise.

God: Let's see a cubit...I used to know what a cubit was...Well don't worry about that Noah. When you get that done
go out into the world and collect all of the animals in the world by two male and female, and put them into the ark.
Noah: Right! ...Who is this really?

I find it humorous that Christards can't even bother to research their own fables.

The Romans did not make the condemned carry the whole cross to the place of execution - they only carried the crossbar (patibulum), not the pole (stipes) - the latter usually being permanently installed at the place of execution. And even that practice wasn't universal. There were a lot of variables on the details of how a crucifixion was carried out, depending on the severity of the crime, the whim of the officials involved, and the expediency of the situation and materials at hand.

It's also a near certainty that a cross used at that time and place would have looked like a capital T (crux commissa) and not the popular form (crux immissa). If anything projected above the crossbar it would be a small sign on a narrow stick (much thinner than the stipes) bearing the name and offense of the condemned.

Yes, lets go back to the good old days of religious dominance, where women were property, any non-white, non-european descent wasn't actually human and the concepts of dignity and respect were things you couldn't buy because you were too poor to care about them. By golly though, that infant mortality rate and brutal intolerance for anything that might be different, that's what this country was founded on. I say we raise the flag of Byzantium and just elect Ron Paul the Basileus already, this giant attention stunt on wheels is the push our society needs to remember that Thomas Paine based everything he said on the ineffability of Jesus and divine right to rule everything.

Maybe he was just all about Wolfwood. That guy was pretty cool.

Don't bother these people with facts and reality, they're on a mission.

This is why I'm a member of LandoverBaptist.org, where the worthwhile worship.
