(Townhall)   Obama didn't speak at the NAACP conference, proving he doesn't care about black people. But he did send his best campaign spokesman   (townhall.com) divider line 88

It seems like the most effective strategy was just to let Mitt "more free stuff" Romney keep talking.

2012-07-16 10:30:21 AM
They sent Joe Biden.

"Dey send a white guy to speak to the NAACP, we send a whiter guy to speak to the NAACP. It's da Chicago way."

Another conservative blog throwing poo at mainstream websites in the hopes of changing the Bain narrative. How cute.

2012-07-16 10:47:34 AM
If all you can see is prestige and coup-counting, the Dems sent a Vice President to buoy them up, and the Republicans sent a dynastic politician who's running on not much besides entitlement to accuse them of panhandling.

If all you can see is skin color it must be hard to understand that it could be that some people care more about the message than the melanin.

Either way or a mix of the two, this article sure looks like "It's not FAAAAAAAIR that they are getting support when they sent their second stringer, we sent our MAIN GUY! WAAAAAAH"

2012-07-16 12:01:30 PM
Obama didn't speak at the opening of a local KFC, therefore he's not really black but an Islam.

2012-07-16 12:04:53 PM
"...during the Obama Administration, Black Americans have experienced more set-backs than at any time in the past 30 years?"

Like what?

2012-07-16 12:05:00 PM
Townhall sounds concerned.

2012-07-16 12:06:01 PM
No, Romney went to speak at the NAACP for one reason and one reason only: he had to prove to his racist base that he is indeed the "Great White Hope" that can stand up in front of a crowd of "those people" and prove he's not scared of them.

Obama didn't speak because there was a scheduling conflict and he didn't necessarily need to.

2012-07-16 12:06:10 PM
Old butthurt news is so snorey.

2012-07-16 12:07:20 PM
In this reality Townhall actually cares about the NAACP.

Calmamity: They sent Joe Biden.

I don't really think it's possible to be whiter than Mitt Romney, and I say this as a nearly translucent Canadian.

2012-07-16 12:08:48 PM
Why would Obama care about African Americans? He's Kenyan, and Muslin.

2012-07-16 12:09:46 PM
For the first sixty six years the NAACP existed it was run by white guys. Go to a conference today and you will still see tons of white people. Biden actually fits right in there.

Sybarite: It seems like the most effective strategy was just to let Mitt "more free stuff" Romney keep talking.

Ya, I'd say that's probably what 99% of the Obama campaign is based on, "let Mitt do the talking".

2012-07-16 12:09:51 PM
I can't believe they didn't send the black guy to talk to the black guys. How weird is that?

/your racism is showing, cons

How DARE Obama send a life long member of the NAACP, who worked with them on numerous occasions, who has personal relationships with many members, and who has an obvious respect for their message and purpose. The disrespect here is just SO OBVIOUS.

They could be referring to all these conservative states implementing voter ID laws that generally impede minority voting.

Just out of curiosity, since when do conservatives give a shiat about the NAACP?

I'll go first, as a libbo-lib-a-dib, I could give two shiats about the NAACP but I don't want to because I facepalm at the irony of its existence. I could give two shiats, I just won't, ever.

As a follow up, I equally won't give a shiat if Obama doesn't speak at the NAMBLA conference.

2012-07-16 12:14:27 PM
Why isn't Obama trying harder to secure his most secure base. Putting a piece of tape on the vault door would have made a huge difference.

What exactly is ironic about an organization that exists to combat the effects of the institutional racism that has plagued this country since it's existence?

Mitt Romney, the Republican candidate, showed up, spoke, and was booed.

The RW grasp of context is mind boggling.

He was treated politely and given a fair listen and then when he threw Republican red meat to the crowd by suggesting that tossing out a health care initiative based on something he himself did was a pretty solid notion they booed him as he had planned. Just so he could go race bait to the the more traditional Republican base later on that day day with tales of his travels into the lion's den where everybody "wants free stuff".

Three reason come to mind regarding the president's absence...

Your reasons suck ass. Try mine...

Joe had never spoken to that crowd before in his capacity as Veep.

Joe knows a lot of those folks going waaaay back and wanted the opportunity.

Joe knocked his speech out of the park and into the freaking parking lot.

How stupid is this article's author exactly?

*rechecks article*

Oh FFS, I just wasted valuable minutes of my life reading an article written by someone called "Lurita"?

What? Were Cletus and Lurlene too busy or something?

Squirrel hunting possibly?

TL,DR? If this chick is trying to concern troll the black vote away from Obama she's really really bad at it.

Oh, and the reason Obama didn't go is he wants to be seen as THE PRESIDENT, not THE BLACK PRESIDENT.

Any idiot knows this and Lurita does too.

How? Townhall just veils their white supremacy. Just like a few other conservative sites. CNSNEWS, Brietbart and The American Thinker are all allowed and they are all right-wing propaganda outlets who run the tripe of known racist Pat Buchanan.

Why not stormfront? Why keep pretending?

offmymeds: The Prez sent Big Joe, eh? So everyone laughed instead of booed?

Someone didn't watch the speech. Let me put it this way: some Right Wingers have taken to calling Biden "Nazi Joe" now, because only HITLER can give powerful moving speeches, dontcha know.

As to the FA, after Biden gave his speech, people were talking about how President Obama was busy, and that it wasn't a slap in the face to send Biden. They understood that when the President of the United States has to make a choice between speaking in front of thousands and working to benefit hundreds of millions, he's should and will choose the latter. The NAACP isn't pissed at all about this (least of all after Biden's powerful speech). They understand that the President might have more important things to do than flying halfway across the country to give a speech. Why can't this fool?

Nothing has been quite so racist in this country's past as the Emancipation Proclamation.

You and I both know there isn't a chance in hell this discussion is going to end in you even slightly understanding where I'm coming from. So how about we just skip it, you continue thinking I'm just some internet racist myself and I leave you with something I find funny to illustrate where I'm coming from. I mean, that's all that's going to happen anyways, but we can do it in a post or two rather than a few dozen.

The National Association for the Advancement of White People. Racist or not?

Yeah, why isn't there a group out there fighting against the effects of the institutional racism against white people that has plagued this country from it's origin? Thank you for pointing out that cruel and vicious example of racism.

Yeah, but does Romney have as great a relationship with "the blacks" as Trump does?
