Oh my god? They have to stay in temporary living establishments which resemble my old college dorm! The horror.

Lost Thought 00: No one let the Daily Fail know what living conditions are like working out in an oil field

In all fairness most of the camps I have stayed in are more roomy than that. I would NOT want to share a room with anyone.

If they're also confiscating the passports of these foreign workers while paying them drastically lower wages than what they were quoted while being recruited, I'd say they read Dubai's bestseller "How to Exploit Cheap Foreign Labor For Dummies"

Immigrant labor working large events crammed in small quarters is shocking news.

Come visit America, Daily Fail.

nope, but most of the camps I have stayed in tend to have a single bed with a small desk beside it, some drawers and usually a tv inside each room. Usually 8'x10'. Most of the newer ones have a bathroom attached that is shared with a neighbor, older ones you have a bank down the hall, could be 100 rooms in a bunkhouse with 10-15 bathrooms/showers to go around.

Livable, but not pleasant. Feels more like prison if you are there more than a week.

I've lived the camp life as well. Conditions may appear to suck but after breakfast, work, shower, and dinner I'd usually be dead to the world anyways. All I'd need was my bed. 14 hour days tromping through the bush carrying surveying gear will do that to a guy.

But do they get all the hot Olympic tail like the athletes?

Plans for the accommodation were backed by London 2012 organiser Locog and waved through by the local council, Newham, even though environmental health officers said the toilet and shower facilities were 'unlikely to be adequate', while landscape architects said the sleeping arrangements were 'cramped'.

Man, when the Mexicans say that living quarters are cramped, you know they're bad.

Well, cleaners for the 2002 Winter Olympics had to live in a place where you have to buy booze from the government.

Sounds like a failed job interview to me. If they're cleaners, and they want a cleaning job, why should they be hired if they can't even keep their own place clean? It's filthy because they made it that way. I wouldn't hire them.
