They should have also shown World Series highlights for when it gets preempted.

Glad this is getting a proper conclusion. Will still be super sad when it's done.

Was there any actual new footage in that? Seemed most of it was from last season.

I'm not sure which universe's Olivia is hotter.

Did last season improve any? I stopped watching it 5 or 6 episodes in.

ShawnDoc: Was there any actual new footage in that? Seemed most of it was from last season.

No, there was some new footage but from what I understand from the Comic Con panel, it was shot as a show reel to sell season 5

Snapper Carr: Did last season improve any? I stopped watching it 5 or 6 episodes in.

I've heard it did but I also gave up early on. I stopped for the end of season two and came back for three and thought I was watching a different show. A much, much worse show.

They finally pulled it together for the last three or four. "Letters of Transit" was very interesting, they pulled most of the trailer footage from that ep.

Screw the haters. As far as science fiction on television goes this show is easily on top of most or all others.

It got a proper conclusion. Both universes were saved. Peter vanished. End of story.

consider this: Bolivia is my fav. She's got that Tomboy attitude that I like in my women.

Where did this Bolivia nonsense start? It doesn't even make sense. Walter had Walternate. Olivia has Fauxlivia. This came from when the 'other' Olivia impersonated the first Olivia - thus a "false"-Olivia.

I'm not hating on you. I keep hearing and seeing Bolivia in other places. On the show I've always heard them say Fauxlivia.

I would do horrible, wonderful things to Fauxlivia. I would fall right into her vagenda.

I don't remember how it started, I just saw it one day and it stuck. It's catchier than Fauxlivia if you ask me.

So they dropped the whole Pattern thing, the whole Walter-wrote-an-antitechnological-manifesto-that-inspired-terrorists thing, the "oncoming war between universes" plotline, then basically rebooted everything with Peter's disappearance and reappearance, then the universes-are-tearing-each-other-apart thing went away, they negated at least one or two flash-forward episodes, made the show's big mystery character (Bell) into a goofy madman who's endgame is to replace our world with one inhabited by hideous winged porcupine-gorillas, and they're now focusing on stopping the Observers from ... um, saving humanity from apparent doom, maybe a lot of which Walter caused?

I like you, Fringe, and I've defended you from the start, but you're going all X-Files on me with the dropping of expository bombshells that never detonate.

From what I have read, it comes from the original name the writers gave the character, B-Olivia. The fans came up with the Fauxlivia name, which was MUCH better than Bolivia, and eventually the show acknowledged that name in an episode late in season 3.

In my opinion Fringe already went down the crapper. In my opinion Fringe went down the crapper ages ago.

I agree...to a point. I did not like the reboot of season 4, and while I was watching Fringe, my general reaction was "meh." Then I saw some "regular" television shows, and I've learned to appreciate the creativity and the acting of Fringe. I will certainly miss it when it is no longer made; I still think about some of the best scripts (Peter, for instance). When it was at its best, it was an awesome show, and even when it misfired, it was still very good. I'm looking forward to this one, only because Walter is going to come across as some sort of superhero.

/besides, Anna Torv, for Chrissakes

I don't think they "dropped" anything, as much as allowed the story to grow as they proceeded. The pattern was essentially the discovery of the alternate universe, which then led to a storyline involving the conflict between the two universes. The conflict eventually led to the machine being built for what they considered to be a moment in which Peter would choose a universe, but, it appears, in actuality, they started the machine too early, allowing the Observers to return. Now they will use the machine to remove the Observers from existence.

/yes, the "reboot" was taxing at first

So in order to be critical of a show we once enjoyed, we also must be fans of mindless reality tv? That's the only other explanation?

I don't agree with it being as bad as he claimed, but I thought the 4th season was pretty weak. And the whole Observer turn seemed to come out of no where.

Ok, I lol'ed at that one way harder than I should have, considering how true it probably will be. Well played.
