I was watching it this morning, and it was just bizarre, pelleton hits the top of the last climb and it's flat city. The first riders through, the break away 15 minutes up and then a second one a few minutes behind, got through no problem, but when the main block of riders came through, damn. In other news, Peter Sagan is not only an awesome sprinter, he's a fine climber.

A little googling tells me that it only exists as a 1/5 scale model at the moment. If someone has access to their own machine shop, they could probably reverse engineer the drive system. It doesn't seem TOO complicated. It may start to get hard if you want a tight turning radius, though. Hmm... Can you weld?

I'll get us one. I need someone to go forward in time with me. This is not a joke. You'll get paid after we get back. Must bring your own weapons. Safety is not guaranteed. I have only done this once before.

I love this year's tour though, exciting stages, a lot of drama, and a some great new talents; Froome, Pinot, Sagan. Sagan is still very young and seems to have a talent for all aspects of racing; he could become a future tourwinner,.

FTA: Tour etiquette dictates that rivals do not take advantage of another rider's misfortune and, as soon as he realised what was happening, Team Sky's lead rider called for a truce.

"I thought it was the honourable thing to do," said 32-year-old Wiggins who is aiming to become the first British rider to win the race. "Nobody wants to benefit from someone else's misfortune."

What kind of pansy-ass nonsense is this? Is it a sport? Is it competition? Then you take advantage of every opportunity. If the other guy's shoe breaks and he sprains his ankle, are you going to wait for him to heal because it would be the honorable thing to do? Why not? After all, it wasn't his fault any more than the tacks were.

Screw that, if the fans are interfering with the race make them stay far enough away so that they can't. If you are going to allow them to be that close then whatever they do should be considered part of the event and no quarter should be given because of it. Man up, you squashed-ball sissies.

Major stupid move by some 'fan'. Can't really understand the mentality. Same for the idiots with the smoke bombs. 6 months in a French prison sounds about right.

Heads up move by Wiggins but I don't think it made much of a difference. Unless Cadel somehow manages to get a pair of miracle legs he's out of the running anyway. His tour got off to a rough start and after seeing him get dropped in the Alps on Stage 11 I don't think he had much of a chance.

Sagan is doing some amazing riding. A strong sprinter who can climb too. Looking forward to seeing more from him.

I was wondering how it would look if Andy and Alberto could have ridden too. Not to mention some top flight talent that has had to retire. Been enjoying it so far.

Sorry that cycling doesn't fit your stick and ball idea of how a sport conducts itself but try watching a couple of stages. You might just enjoy it.

They should have a steamroller lead the race. Force those assholes who crowd the road and wave shiat in the faces of the riders to stand back. What was it, Stage 3 when a guy decided to step out into the route for a nice photo and caused a crash?

I realize they can't barricade the whole route, but a little police tape strung up in the areas where the fans congregate might keep them back at a safe distance.

Alberto wouldn't have slowed down to let the leaders back in. He won two years ago by taking advantage of Schlek's mechanical problem.

That's nothing. Charles Nelson Reilly won the Tour de France with two flat tires and a missing chain.

I'm not sure either one would have anything in the bag for Wiggins. I just feel for a few of the teams that have lost a bunch of riders, there's one team that's down to four riders with a week to go.

bikkurikun: he could become a future tourwinner

What'll be interesting is how his team handles him next year. Do they work for him and have him go for the yellow jersey or does he go for the green jersey again? Though given the climbing prowess he showed today, could be among the top climbers too.

He's too far back to really make any noise for the race lead, but he could still make the stage finishes interesting.

I kinda want BMC to switch leaders and see if Teejay can do more than Evans. Evans doesn't seem to have the legs needed to move up.

wikipedia reads they only have a prototype. there's a ranger / woods bike with FWD called the Rokon you can find used on eBay might come close to this. uses tires not tracks but great for getting through the really tough stuff.
