The only honest response is to point at Romney and laugh. Oh, and run more clips using SEC filings and Romney's own words, Or, as it is known in the Romney camp, "Is this up to the standards of the presidency of the United States?"

Nice touch using Newt at the end.

Not looking forward to coming back to the US during election season.

I would normally be spared the pain, being a VA resident, but since Fartbama turned us blue in 2008, we'll probably be shiat all over this time.

2012-07-15 03:14:29 AM
All things considered, when you can string together 60 sec. of your opponent attacking you and make an ad supporting yourself, that can't bode well for your opponents chances can it?

2012-07-15 03:18:00 AM
Holy crap, they're just hitting him with his own words. Then they finish him off with a Newt-ing.

2012-07-15 03:30:11 AM
Wow. They are good at this.

Obama raped and murdered a girl in 1996. It must be true, because I saw it on the internet. Now, can we move along and have a high-brow discussion of the issues.

Yeah, that really is easy.

Mr. President, when did you stop beating your wife?

Ouch. That's gonna leave a mark.

Reminds me of the Jerry Brown ad with Meg Whitman saying how great California was in 1980..... of course, Jerry Brown was governor in 1980.

When you have someone like Romney, it is basically all you have to do against him.

2012-07-15 08:57:30 AM
To be fair, Romney DOES produce the best ads for Obama...

I said a while back that the best thing that the Obama team could do would be to just continuously loop Romney's own words, over and over and over again. I'm glad that I wasn't alone in that assessment...

Yeah, the Republican primaries left dozens of quotes to be used against Romney in ads. And those are much more effective, IMO, than talking yourself.

I'm not really into politics, but that was one hell of a good ad.

I don't understand how Romney can be in perpetual campaign mode for years and years and be so farking bad at it. I can't wait for the debates. Fartbama is going to cornhole this twit.

For FIVE years he's been campaigning. You'd think he'd be better at it by now.

Can the nation afford a President with such a shallow learning curve?

I also love how he misses the difference between Back's "I'm just asking questions" and making an outright statement. It's part of why I have him favorited as "SUPER genius."

It's as if he expected a Presidency to just be handed to him, because he decided one morning that he should have one.

I'm surprised he isn't sending his butler out to make his speeches.

This is your defense? Boy are you guys screwed.

I think this Bain thing was purely leveraging legal and corporate loopholes to retain eligibility requirements so Romney could run for Governor. I think Obama's attack is technically correct, but overall, does not have meat on it to affect an outcome, which is why he's using it in July and not October.

Obama is using Republican tactics against Republicans, and sowing dissent ahead of the RNC convention. The Daily Paul is piling on the attack on Romney. Burn motherfarkers. Burn!

PC LOAD LETTER: I think Obama's attack is technically correct, but overall, does not have meat on it to affect an outcome, which is why he's using it in July and not October.

It's all over the Sunday shows. One of Mitt's advisers just said that Romney retired from Bain in 1999 "retroactively"

I think this thing has legs. It's already blowing up Twitter.

"Waah! I demand an apology! Let's talk about the issues instead!"

"Okay, what issues would you like to talk about?"

"The issue of how America will be better without Obama as President!"

"Could you be a little more specific?"

"...I don't understand. How much more specific can you get than that?"

The timing of Obama's ad was brilliant. It forces Romney and his people to work the weekend for damage control, and THIS response looks sort of cobbled together and weak. Which, it is. The Talking Points brigade won't get their broadsheets until later this afternoon, which makes it look even weaker.

Again: for a guy who's been essentially campaigning for five years, you'd think he'd be better at it...

At this point I'm wondering if Romney is really just an extension of the Obama campaign.

Obamas surrogates need to bring this up every time they talk to the press, from now till the election. The MSM will try to move on, but if Obamas people are always bringing it up they can't ignore it.

A Manchurian Democrat, if you will.

I'm pleased to see that when punching the Romney campaign in the nose, the Obama campaign is going to follow through all the way to the back of the head.

I really hoped it was just a video of the president pointing at his balls, but that was pretty good.

well...no. I mean, look at the Occupy movement. the mainstream press ignored mass beatings, and police brutality on a truly massive scale and nobody so much as blinked. if the press wants to ignore Romney's issues with Bain capital I suspect they will have little difficultly organizing a media blackout.

Looping statements is one thing, but what I really want to see is an ad using video of Romney edited like a debate, with Romney debating Romney.

Awesome... Love the Newt thing at the end. Thryve got tons of those, too. If you read Game Change one of the things they stands out is how much all the 2008 Rs despised Mittens Rmoney. Speaking of which, how long until Obama for America runs an ad with a typo like...

While Governor, Mitt Rmoney said...

Obama's a pretty good campaigner. He's just terrible in office.

If someone on Romney's staff actually said that he retired from Bain retroactively, Obama's camp needs to hammer the fark out of that one on the airwaves. It's really too bad that Obama is President right now, because were he not in office like Romney, he could publicly ask the Justice Dept. to look into the Bain Capital records and see if the law had been broken (by all appearances it has, even if only technically). As it is, Obama has to keep his mouth shut to avoid the appearance of trying to game the election while in office.
