Godscrack: That's OK, once Obama gets re-elected, it will be fun to watch them get stupider.

They have guns. I'm not particularly looking forward to them losing grip on that last thread of sanity.

MaudlinMutantMollusk: Somacandra: Cake Hunter: So you crapped your pantry?

Can we please have at least one thread that doesn't turn into a pantry-crapping festival?

Probably not in an election year

Maybe the next F1 thread that goes green before the race ends. Those usually only get about 50-60 posts, and about a third of those posts are mine.

How much would the collective IQ of the nation go up if these people took off for Galt's Gulch?

Hey now,

The site just got cleaned and freshened up. Let's not have any pantry-crapping for at least a couple days ya farking heathens.

Okay, here's what normal people need to understand. If you are talking to a conservative, you are talking to a crazy person.

That is all.

Number of people who would have otherwise voted for Obama within that 20% = Zero.

20% of Americans think Wendy's is a Peter Pan-themed restaurant.

There's a simple solution for this. If people really believe this, why not let Congress impeach him for this?

So 20% of the posters here should be Birfers. It only seems like it's 2%.

I think that poll was 'shopped. I can tell by some of the crosstabs, and having seen a few percentages in my time.

Most Americans weren't even aware of the birth certificate issue until Trump started talking about it. Then Obama released it. That caused some confusion because people that watch the MSN thought it had already been released.

In other news 20% of Americans should not be allowed to raise children due to mental retardation.

CSB time,

I remember like 2 years ago I was having a discussion with my secretary. During said discussion we were discussing how many people will continue to vote republican no matter how much they get screwed over. I casually threw out that I though 20 percent of the population is just motherfarking retarded. Glad to see I was in the ballpark.

It had been. The standard Hawaii short form. Then the birthers moved the goal posts yet again and
he trumped them with the long form. Some how that still doesn't seem to be enough. I guess racism
makes people completely ignorant jerks FOREVER.

Coco LaFemme: Condi Rice for VP is almost as absurd as Sarah Palin for VP. Which means it's entirely possible that's what Romney will do. He's the consummate panderer, and what better way to nab minority votes than have your VP nominee be both black AND female? Trust me, as much as Romney's supporters can't stand the idea of a black man in any position of power in this country, they'll hold their noses and vote for Romney regardless of his VP choice.

Exactly. Party before country.

What we need isn't a tax or IQ test at the polls, we need a sanity test. Prove you're not fit to vote in this universe, and the helpful poll people will teleport your vote to the universe where your worldview is appropriate.

That's why I always said it was a huge mistake for Obama to pay the Birthers the slightest bit of attention, much less publish his birth certificate.

On the contrary, poking the birthers with a stick is a great move for Obama. Because the GOP can't help but cater to them; that 20% is a big chunk of their base, and most will reliably vote Republican. Usually, they'll just pretend the fringe doesn't exist, and the fringe is happy with the run-of-the-mill derp...but by getting that fringe frothing at the mouth, Obama forces Republicans to acknowledge the Birthers. And few Republicans, at least those up for election, can outright say the Birthers are crazy.

I will not accept anything less than video footage of the President being born which segues into an uninterrupted video of him aging (it can be accelerated, I'm not unreasonable) from birth to present so I can be sure that the video shows who it says it shows. When I move the goalposts, I don't fark around.

The legally valid certificate, which Obama could use should he need a new passport, driver's license, etc., HAD been released. But something about this particular President made people demand legally extraneous hospital paperwork as well as the COLB. And now that he released THAT, they demand more meaningless records like his farking kindergarten papers.

I wonder what could be different about this President that makes these people so *sure* that he simply cannot be a Real American. It's not that he's a Democrat...Clinton, Kerry and Gore never had their eligibility questioned, at least by this many people.

How frustrating it must be to be a birther and think not only is the foreign born Kenyan usurper about to get his second term but all the might, money and intelligence on your side can't do a thing to stop it*

*because it isn't true

Never forget that IQ scores fit a bell curve with a standard deviation of 15. Which means about 16% of people have IQs under 85. In the US that works out to around 50 million. I imagine with a little showmanship you can get 20% of any population to believe damn near anything.

It's called the retard quotient. It's not necessarily that the same retarded 23% (that's the average number in the retard quotient) keep popping up with retarded views, it's that on any issue roughly 20-25% of people will hold a retarded view.

Damn him. And great point made. Each failure to prove anything doesn't go as a check mark in the column of the opposition leaders being inept, it's another check in the column of evil things done by Obama to prevent it.

Sad, but more idiotic and less plausible beliefs are more widely held. Like, say, talking snakes and turning water into wine.
