I never run my browser in full screen so, I started blocking all of Fark's CSS after the previous change. My proxy already rewrites the main links to eliminate the /goto/'s so, it looks like I'll need to add a filter for the "source | share".

I'm really not noticing any HUGE difference in fonts. I already crank them down to tiny though, I dunno.

BTW the larger font will make drunken reading and posting much much easier. This can't be a coincidence.

You yourself just called it a problem, and then rip people for pointing it out? You know, there's a word for biatching pointlessly about a problem. It's "feedback". Wouldn't you want users to point out problems with your product?

You can do it in your browser.

The option exists, the exact way to do it varies a bit from browser to browser, but you can change how big the font is.

LARGE FONT SIZE SUCKS. Seriously, it's messing with my head. I tried to reduce the font size back to what it had been, and the result was that the gray background ended 2/3 of the way down the page, leaving the footer having a stark black background.

Speaking of the footer, you broke it:

It genuinely appears no one gave the slightest consideration to the notion that some of us might actually LIKE smaller text, given how many things are broken by using the browser to adjust our text size back down. Honestly, did it really completely fail to ever cross anyone's mind or did it come up, then everyone involved in this redesign just waved a hand dismissively and collectively said "fark 'em!"?

1. It screws up the borders.
2. The quote and html buttons become TINY and hard to hit.
3. It was fine the way it was.

I'll go ahead and jump on the font size bandwagon, this is ridiculous. I'm old and my eyesight isn't what it used to be either, but if you need font this damn large perhaps you should look into some glasses, or just changing the font size on your browser rather than making everyone else adjust theirs.

On another note, how come the links I've already clicked on are still showing up as dark as the ones I haven't? I don't see anything in the settings to change this. I have no clue what I've read and what I haven't. I use Chrome if that matters.

meg: So you might have noticed a few changes around here. For your edification, here's a quick summary.

A) On all our headline pages (Main, Geek, etc.) you can now hover over the headline and share to Facebook or Twitter. It also shows an easy link directly to the article. If you don't like it, you can turn it off in your Preferences page in myFark (check the preference for, "Don't show Facebook and Twitter share buttons.")

Meh. Okay I guess, but thank God I can turn it off.

2) We bumped up the font size a bit on headlines. Drew's eyes ain't what they used to be.

Add me to the list of "but everyone will see what I'm browsing at work!" complaints. Did you consider this? Yes I know I can use my browser setting to make it smaller again, but that screws up every other site I read. Yes, I know I could install an add-in to remember site-specific zoom settings, but should I really have to install an add-on to read your site? How about a preference setting for this too? Alternatively, how about Drew (and the rest of you old, blind people) buy some freaking reading glasses.

iii) We're increasing the maximum limits on images in threads - both dimensions and filesize. You can now post an image up to 850x1500px, with a filesize up to approx 500k. You can still link to images larger than that.

This is great - in theory. Fark's image restrictions have been kind of a joke for a while now, but this also falls under the "everyone will see what I'm browsing issue" especially since NSFW is not a universally agreed-upon standard. Perhaps a setting to display all images at 50%? Or a maximum image size?

δ) We're also increasing the minimum width of our page to support the new image sizes, and because over 95% of you have screens that wide anyway.

This. is. awesome.

blue) We're changing all contest threads (Photoshop, Farktography, etc) to automatically default to showing only the contest entries (vote-enabled comments), to keep the emphasis on the contest itself. There's a 'Show all" link after the last comment, and a checkbox to "Show nonvoting comments" at the top. If you always want to see all comments (both contest entries and discussion about the contest), you can change it in your Preferences page in myFark (check the preference for, "In contest threads (Photoshop, Farktopgraphy, captions, etc), see regular comments as well as contest entries.")

The way some people get so uptight about the purity of contest threads has always baffled me. For them, fine whatever, but its good that I can turn this off.

Yes, I will get over it, but these are some things you can do to help me get over it faster.

If you use the No Squint browser extension it can do a bit more than just remembering magnification/shrinkage on a per site basis.

If you open it up you can set things like:

"Full Zoom Level" = 65
"Text Zoom Level" = 205

This shrinks every thing and then makes text really large which mostly gives a total result of shrinking the size of pictures.
