So you might have noticed a few changes around here. For your edification, here's a quick summary.

A) On all our headline pages (Main, Geek, etc.) you can now hover over the headline and share to Facebook or Twitter. It also shows an easy link directly to the article. If you don't like it, you can turn it off in your Preferences page in myFark (check the preference for, "Don't show Facebook and Twitter share buttons.")

2) We bumped up the font size a bit on headlines. Drew's eyes ain't what they used to be.

iii) We're increasing the maximum limits on images in threads - both dimensions and filesize. You can now post an image up to 850x1500px, with a filesize up to approx 500k. You can still link to images larger than that.

δ) We're also increasing the minimum width of our page to support the new image sizes, and because over 95% of you have screens that wide anyway.

blue) We're changing all contest threads (Photoshop, Farktography, etc) to automatically default to showing only the contest entries (vote-enabled comments), to keep the emphasis on the contest itself. There's a 'Show all" link after the last comment, and a checkbox to "Show nonvoting comments" at the top. If you always want to see all comments (both contest entries and discussion about the contest), you can change it in your Preferences page in myFark (check the preference for, "In contest threads (Photoshop, Farktopgraphy, captions, etc), see regular comments as well as contest entries.")

I like, especially the larger font size and wider pages.

Fark linked to Facebook and Twitter? These are the end times.

The headlines look the same size to me...but, the comments look ginormous.

2012-07-13 04:14:26 PM
Big overture, liiiiiiittle show

2012-07-13 04:14:38 PM
My question is, will we get over it?

2012-07-13 04:14:56 PM
We're all gonna die.

2012-07-13 04:15:08 PM
I was hoping for a change to make the format more like my favorite, easy-on-the-eyes website, Free Republic.

2012-07-13 04:15:22 PM
Will this also come in strawberry flavor?

Anger rising...

Anger falling.

Now the comments look the regular size again.

Have I adjusted that quickly or was there a slight change?

I'm finding this easy to get over.
You'll have to try harder next time.

2012-07-13 04:16:55 PM
I just refreshed and saw the larger font sizes. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, or that I had messed up my Mac again.

2012-07-13 04:17:10 PM
my favorite part is how I generally come in here and text size down anyway

Oh good, bigger font. Cause that's what every site needs.

/I'll get over it
//whatever you have to do to make yourself feel like you have a career

meg: up to 850x1500px

This seems unnecessary / counterproductive, but...

meg: over 95% of you have screens that wide anyway.

... I'll be damned. Wouldn'a' guessed that, at *all*. Of course, most of my computers still have hand-cranks in the side. Conveniently shoves all the ads off the side of the page, at least in my case, so thanks, I guess!

The big font is ugly, though.

But... I'll get over it.

/ as long as we don't see threaded comments, avatars or other nonsense, and the changes that are made don't slow anything down, you're good
// thanks for all the hard work

DOES THE LARGER FONT SIZE MEAN MY SHOUTING WILL FINALLY BE ACKNOWLEDGED??

2012-07-13 04:18:48 PM

There's this new invention where they put curved pieces of glass in wire frames to make things look bigger.

Drew's eyes ain't the only one suffering the ravages of time, so I'm way okay with this.

2012-07-13 04:19:20 PM
Those goddamn hovering Twitter/Facebook tags were totally annoying and are now gone.

I like the bigger font, tho, as Drew is not the only one with old eyes.

The "Add Comment" button doesn't seem to work in Chrome, at least for me.
