It worked pretty well there for G. Gordan Liddy for a while.

/for a while.

That sounds about right. I can't wait for his rants about liberal corruption.

Give the people what they want. Feed their superstitions, base desires, fears etc. FoxNews knows how to do it and reap millions as a result. If you want the bucks then go after the market that pays - conservative America. Feed their fears about the Black leftist in the White House. Fear and stupidity - a winning combination.

At least they know where the action is and how to exploit for profit. This was totally expected.

trivial use of my dark powers: The cognitive dissonance is so ingrained by now the Cons won't even blink.

Like how a news anchor that makes $12 million a year can call a business owner who makes $1 million a year "greedy", without blinking or cracking a smile? Like how I'm supposed to be so concerned with how Mitt Romney spends his own money, yet unconcerned with how Obama spends my great-grandchildrens' money?

Cognitive dissonance is an equal opportunity affliction, methinks.

I know, right? If there's one problem with Abramoff, it's that he's too Liberal. Can you believe that RINO thinks that we shouldn't waterboard Mexicans whenever we see them?

the f*cked up thing with the Jack Abramoff scandal is how completely normal most of the shiat he did sounds. even the overbilling of the tribes sounds sounds normal.
the whole thing sounds like completely typical american-style interest-group-pay-for-representation type governance where if you don't have a financial stake in the game, then you aren't represented by anyone, that has all but ruined this country by ensuring that literally nothing can be passed without someone getting fat off the public tit, therefore that everything that ever passes is dogshiat.
Jack Abramoff doesn't seem very much sleazier to me than anything else. the whole system is just slimy.
read the the wiki article on him, then ask yourself if you don't actually think that is actually the only way politics has been getting done for the past 100 years.

I think people are more concerned about his proven pattern of behavior with how he spends any money or asset he gets his hands on. Nice way to deflect the entire issue with a single sentence, though. As for your follow up, anyone backing Romney clearly doesn't give a damn about that either, so it's a moot point. The thought that my great-grandchildren might have affordable health care for their lost money instead of another aircraft carrier doesn't upset me. You initial point was so much derp it almost defies reason, and I'm not even going to enumerate the various levels of why. I will credit that yours is likely the most well-spoken spew of random talking points I've ever seen.

Larry King was caught forging checks in the 1970s, is that what you mean?

Perhaps if you started by explaining what YOU meant. (Larry King = radio host. Larry King also = felon. IMO Larry King != liberal, but he was the only even remotely liberalish political radio guy I can think of with a police record.)

Gee, how to figure that?

Because he was best buds with Tom Delay?

Because he gave money almost exclusively to Republicans?

Because both Ralph Reed and Grover Norquist were effectively on his payroll?

so just a hunch, really

In 2007-2008, Romney spent $42 million of his formidable riches on his losing campaign. That was the second most amount in history of a presidential candidate self-financing his run, trailing only the $63.5 million that Ross Perot spent on his 1992 third-party run.

Romney, whose fortunes are reported to be as much as $250 million, told supporters going into this campaign season that he didn't want to spend very much of his own money this time around, and according to the Center for Responsive Politics, he hasn't. They report he has spent $52,500 of his own funds so far.

Guess even Mitt doesn't want to sink his money into a losing proposition.

volodya:

Feed their fears about the Black leftist in the White House.

Except he's not a leftist. He's more right-wing than Bill Clinton, who made Nixon look liberal. Forget their rhetoric or their enemies', look at contemporary Democrats' actual policies. How many sides of their mouths can they have to talk from?

But anyway. Yesterday, in Lexington, KY where I live, I got ambushed at the bus stop by a fat white 60 year old woman who could not stop raving against Obama. When I tried to explain he was no leftist she wandered off a few feet and kept raving to herself. Can't these people be made to accept treatment? Or at least gagged in padded cells, away from the few of us who haven't ODed on blue pills?

By the way, is it true that Obama promised to create 300,000 jobs a month during his Presidency? And if so, since goverment job-creation programs is usually understood to be part of socialism, shouldn't the wingnuts be praising Obama for reneging on the promise? You know, something like "at least this Kenyan Muslim didn't keep his vow to subject the free market in jobs to government interference!"

The issue isn't whether we will have "special" camps. The issue is when we'll have them and who will build and run them. If they start railroading wingnuts I'd find it hard to want to stop them, however contrary to anarchist principles such a thing would be.
