Torrent of Rubbish: Cubs-Dbacks just got going.

And, in true Cubs fashion, runners at the corners with nobody out.

JosephFinn: Like any good baseball fan, he's ignoring the play-in game that'll be dropped by 2014.

Not a chance.

Torrent of Rubbish: cameroncrazy1984: Dafatone: cameroncrazy1984: I'm excited about Mets/Braves tonight. Less excited about Gee being done for the year.

Poor Dillon. He was really getting into a groove, too.

So, Harvey? No Harvey? Harvey? No Harvey?

/Harvey.
//I think.

I think Harvey. I've seen him a couple times in the minors and I think he's ready. And Alderson has been pretty good at managing the pitchers this year.

Looks like it's going to be Batista initially. Who knows how long that'll last.

I have no problems with Batista, other than his age. But I'm an eternal optimist.

Scruffinator: Contrabulous Flabtraption: Cool! Only 6 more weeks until baseball becomes interesting!

The Angels come to Detroit for a 4 game set starting Monday. I'm not sure where the rotations are going to fall, but if Verlander faces Weaver, there'll be ejections by the 4th inning. Especially if Fielder knocks one out against Weaver.

Verlander is scheduled to start Sunday vs. Baltimore, so he won't face the Angels at all that series. Unless he gets pushed back a day or something.

Weaver is scheduled apparently to start Sunday vs. NY also, so it just won't happen. Maybe next time.

Wadda ya say we win a brand, new, ballgame

We're gonna shout when ya powder the ball
We're gonna scream, "put it over the wall"
The other teams gonna know what it means to play the Y.A.N.K.E.E.S
We love the Yankees
Shout it out loud , We Love The YANKEES
We're really proud of our YANKEES
And we're gonna win today
2, 3, 4, Hit, Run, Fight, Score, Go! Go! Go!

We're gonna shout when ya powder the ball
We're gonna scream "put it over the wall yo"
The other teams gonna know what it means to play the Y.A.N.K.E.E.S
We love the Yankees
Shout it out loud, We Love The YANKEES
We're really proud of our YANKEES
And we're gonna win today

Y.A.N.K.E.E.S. Yes
Y.A.N.K.E.E.S. Yes

Damn! Well, thanks for the info. Maybe it'd be more appropriate in a 1 game wildcard playoff? I can wait a couple years.

The Mets are basically just hoping to injure enough guys so that the Braves have to forfeit the game.

2012-07-13 09:24:30 PM
It's looking like Chris Perez is gonna get his chance to bounce back after that blown save on Sunday.

Not sure I feel too great about that.

2012-07-13 09:29:25 PM
Fug. At least the other AL East games are going the right way.

2012-07-13 09:42:02 PM
We go to the bottom of the 9th.

Rasmus, Bautista and Encarnacion to the plate.

Yikes.

Mark Teixeira 5, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 5, bottom 8th.

At least you're closer to their time zone. When the Indians play out west, the games don't even start until 10:00 PM.

2012-07-13 10:04:48 PM
6-5 Yankees on a monster 8th inning. Finish strong and let's pad the lead one more game.

2012-07-13 10:08:14 PM
Josh Edgin strikes out the first man he sees in the major leagues. Nice.

Also, the umpire is set up way to the left of the plate from the pitcher's perspective. Weird.

2012-07-13 10:09:41 PM
Back-to-back strikeouts for Edgin with the bases loaded! Not a bad way to start an MLB career!

2012-07-13 10:10:15 PM
Ballgame, Yankees win. 8 game lead over the Orioles.

2012-07-13 10:27:16 PM
Matt Kemp is back with the Dodgers, and hit a double in his first at-bat.

Andre Ethier is also back. The future looks bright. :)

2012-07-13 10:46:44 PM
Rays and O's both go down, so the Indians are now tied with the Orioles for the 2nd Wild Card spot.

Come on, Royals.

WHAT'S HAPPENING I can't be expected to watch two games!

Royals scored a pair in the bottom of the 8th to take a 7-6 lead on the Chi Sox, but Jonathan Broxton has now given up a single and two walks to load the bases with no outs because he's a worthless piece of sh*t and there's a reason the Royals are ten games back.

Kemp just got a single and is 2-for-2. So far, so good...

I believe that reason is called "being the Royals".

Broxton had a few good seasons with the Dodgers.

This is weird, I'm not used to the commentators being so "meh" about situations like this.

If Chris Perez had loaded the bases with no outs and a one-run lead, Tom Hamilton would be having a meltdown.

well like I said, in all fairness, Broxton is getting squeezed by the ump a bit

No faith in a Royal walk-off? After all, Billy Butler, THE GREATEST HOME RUN HITTER EVER (apparently) , leads off!
