So the resident denied a search and instead of getting a warrant they do a "during a protective search, to assure there were no other subjects in the home, a marijuana grow operation was located in an upstairs bedroom. "

Lame.

growing a harmless plant means you can be victimized by thugs and then if you try to call for help you will be victimized by thugs.

Officers responded around 9 p.m. Wednesday to the 700 block of Village Street on a call that two armed people entered the residence, committed a robbery and fled the scene in gray, four-door Buick vehicle.

Two armed people entered the residence and didn't take anything.
So they phoned the cops, who showed up armed, entered the residence and took all their drugs.

Sounds about right.

While the suspect is clearly a dumbass for inviting the police into his drug den, it's nice to know the cops shifted their attention immediately away from the armed robbers roaming the streets once they spotted "loose marijuana" on the floor.

One of the main causes of drug violence is that you have to provide your own security and repercussions. If the cops shrugged off possession when looking into robbery reports then drug dealers would be able to report crimes instead of taking the law into their own hands.

Bully boys having the illicit drug revenue is just the way the state wants it. Form of targeted welfare.

I would hope they do a protective search. This is really a home invasion scenario.

You're not still running under the belief that the War on Drugs is meant to help the situation, are you?

FTFA: A search warrant was obtained for the residence and police found a large amount of processed marijuana, marijuana plants, acid, suspected bath salts, a large psilocybin mushrooms grow operation and $1,800.

You know, I'm starting to think there might not have been two armed robbers at all....

Who offers protection for people who can't go to the cops? If only there was some organization like that.

Your honor, I maintain that the drugs found in my client's home were put there by the people who broke in!

And our rights go down the shiatter because some hippies in the 60's flushed their stash down the toilet before they would allow the cops in to execute their search warrant.

/that led to raids, which led to shootings, which led to more armaments, which led to, well, you see the tanks and machine guns currently employed in the war against the people's will.

I feel safer.

That's what's really important.

Feelings...

Yay! My first greenlight! Whereas this excites me immensely, I felt the irony of this victim's dilemma was ripe for picking apart.

I am surprised the homeowner didn't produce his medicinal marijuana card. It has been tried but why give up when one day it may work.
