Well, Asinine is one form of contraception...

That said, He's been doing a good job of improving his image with the work of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation.

or you know, instead of just donating to some giant foundation they could work on things like lowering the cost of contraceptives and supporting generic drugs instead of expensive ones like when they donate to glaxosmithkline.

Got any specifics? It sounds like you're suggesting they spend the money on lobbyists instead of contraceptives.

I don't think that quote is quite on the mark, here. I don't see "overpopulation" anywhere in the article - is it somewhere in the initiative itself? Or are you agreeing with Ray_Peranus's conspiracy theories?

Giving people the ability to control their own rate of conception doesn't quite seem like racism to me. Why does it seem that way to you?

Actually, according to a thing on [adult swim] it costs something like ~$250k to raise a kid from 0-18. If this money was instead invested during this time period it would turn out to be something slightly over $1m.

So actually, according to this, she just made a lot more than 650 farkers millionaires (potentially) ;)

Clean water, DDT and free markets would do more good for Africa than anything else. Can't expect the Gates' to push for political changes that would make free markets possible. Clean water is doable.

There was nothing in that video that stated (as you claimed) or even implied sterilizations linked to vaccinations.

You seem to be relying on a technical claim that you didn't "promise" that the video you linked to would in any way support your position, but the entire purpose of your statement was to mislead a reader into thinking that the video supported it. It didn't; you lied.

You couldn't find a link that supported your statement. Instead, to make your claim appear legitimate, you posted a link you claimed (OK - strongly implied) supported your theory. It didn't.

Cool, but no matter how hard you 'called me on it' doesn't negate the fact there is a pretty vast amount of information on the subject. I am not claiming this shiat out of thin air guy, yet you claim to think the burden of proof is weighed on me and me alone or else it isn't happening. Everything you pulled your 'gotcha' style of debunking me isn't relevant. Why is that so hard to see? It doesn't matter what I said that you disagree with, I've stated I wasn't looking for an argument as I wasn't making a false claim. It's more than just the hits google pulls you twat-waffle, it's the content, I thought you could follow a conversation as a whole instead of picking sentence by sentence as it's own claim to something that obviously offended you. I was stating there is info and video showing him discussing this openly, I just searched and it's still all there. Somehow you making arguments didn't make them implode off the internet after your michael moore-esque exposure of my(?) failure. So to stop this silly back and forth I'll just say, you're right and I'm wrong. I concede to your superior internet debate skills and will scurry back to reddit right away. Congratulations on your big win!

You made a false claim and lied to try to support it. As for whether it was 'gotcha' - perhaps you should re-think your post when you're taking debate lessons from Sarah Palin.

you wanna really proove I'm full of shiat? Google bill gates population control and screen capture google saying there are no matches found. But hey, at least you tried...

Your suggestion of a "proof" that your conspiracy theory was true was that I would find Google hits. Was it better than your "proof" of linking to a video that didn't support your theory in any way? I guess, maybe - at least this time you avoided lying outright.

Earlier in this thread, you seemed to believe that you could support a claim by linking to a random video that in no way supported anything you said.
Later, you thought that your argument was true if I found any Google hits for it.
Now, you say the content of the link matters (you're correct on this last part). Congratulations - you've made a step forward in your critical thinking skills. Please continue to make further steps.

An advanced concept: it's not about winning. I post on Fark to practice both to ask questions I don't know the answers to and also as a way to put together some thoughts and research into something coherent. I've learned things (yes, even on the politics tab), both from other people's posts and from researching my own angry response to posts I disagreed with . . . only to sheepishly delete my rant halfway through as my research showed that they were right. Either way, I benefit. I don't care if I win - it's Fark, for {insert the deity of your choice}'s sake.

I do, however, get annoyed when someone tries to pollute the thread with fake data and bad arguments. I appreciate it when other people point out lies in threads, and figure that sometimes it's my own turn to do so, even if it means getting in unpleasant arguments.
