That's how I feel when I watch my Orioles try and play defense

The more I see Dickey interviewed the more I want the guy to have a great 2nd half too and win the Cy Young. He's on a short list of "people I'd love to hang out and have a beer with."

Ohhh, someone must have clicked on my profile. Back in June of 2010 one fine morning as I was walking to my desk at work, I slipped on some hydraulic fluid leaking from a doorstop and fell down a flight of stairs, breaking both lateral and medial malleolus (the two nubs of your legbones that flank your anklebone). Sounded like someone snapping a handful of carrots.

So, now I have two titanium screws in one side and a titanium plate and screws to hold that in on the other side.

I suppose I was "lucky" because it happened at work and workman's comp payed for it all, but dealing with workman's comp people who start out with the attitude that you're trying to screw them over (despite the pretty clear indication that I did, indeed, break two bones on work premises) still sucked.

Knuckleballers always seem to be great guys.

Watched that, I think a knuckler needs to be thrown outside in the wind to get a lot of movement. Dave wouldn't have caught any big breaking knuckleballs.

The first pitch really hung up there nicely before it dropped.

how Letterman attracts an audience is beyond me. what a waste of a time slot.

I want to see Matt Cain win the Cy Young because (1) he's been a great pitcher his entire career despite living in the shadow of Tim Lincicum and getting no run support, and (2) he deserves it; but if it isn't Cain, then yeah, I would root for Dickey to get it. You're right, every interview I've seen with the guy makes him seem like a really good guy who truly deserves any and all success he might have. I hope he continues to pitch as well in the second half as he did in the first half (as long as he isn't facing the Giants, of course).

Agreed. Some recognition for Cain is WAY over due.
Dickey would be a great runner-up tho.

It's a Cy Young, not a lifetime achievement award. We'll give it to whoever's best.

/Or, whoever's on the better team, when all is said and done.
//It's really the MVP that's the "best player on a playoff team*" award. But now that wins aren't the only factor, watch team quality creep in.

*Except for Matt Holliday in 2007.

Being a Red Sox fan for life, I've watched Wakefield pitch forever. He threw one of those floating knucklers, Dickey throws a fast one that just looks wicked. The knuckle ball is one of those things that makes we wonder why more players don't try it. It's like the skyhook or shooting freethrows underhanded in basketball.
