Was standing in front of the NAACP and deliberately saying he was going to repeal ACA a deliberate and cynical ploy to endear Mittens more to the mouth breathing racist resident ion the GOP?

Um, yeah. That's pretty hard to dispute by this point.

What about the standing O?

What about it?

Ever seen a political speech before?

thornhill: Something like 7 million African Americans will gain health insurance through Obamacare, so going in there and joyfully declaring that you're going to repeal it without providing any kind of alternative was a gigantic FU to the audience.

It didn't help that he called it "non-essential." Sure, it's non-essential to people who don't need it.

"I'm going to eliminate every non-essential, expensive program I can find. That includes Obamacare."

He could have said that he intended to use the RomneyCare model to replace the completely different and not at all similar ObamaCare.

And 20 million will lose the coverage they are now enjoying if Obamacare is implemented. Sounds fair to me.

Being polite? A show of common respect?

Nice try, subby.

badhatharry: She can't fathom that a politician would not pander and condescend to his audience. He actually said what he believed.

Nice try, but no.

Instead of getting into a serious talk about why the Affordable Care Act was bad and what he would substitute with it, he just prattled off a list of things he would repeal to show Conservatives that he has the chutzpah to go into the Lion's Den and tell everyone there to go fark themselves.

I agree that he went there to get booed, but it wasn't to appeal to racists, they already got that vote locked up tight. It was about making the flip flop bot appear like he doesn't just say what you want to hear and pissing off the black vote isn't going to lose the romney any votes.

He said he expected to get booed. If you expect A to result in B and then B happens after you choose to do A, then yes, Mittens deliberately got himself booed. I'm bad at the maths, but it seems pretty straightforward.

2012-07-12 09:47:36 AM
Freepers were certainly praising him for it. Given that the far, far right has been threatening to sit home instead of vote this year, and he can't just pick up Sarah Palin as a running mate, I wouldn't doubt it.

This just in: people in cities don't own cars because they can walk and use public transportation. As a result, they don't have DLs.

Here's how they used to do it in Philadelphia:

You sign a ledger book when you go in to vote. In the ledger book there is a copy of your signature that was captured when you registered to vote. At every polling place the judge of election reviews the signatures. You don't have to be a handwriting expert to see if the signatures match or are different. The system worked pretty damn well for decades.

Here's the bottom line:

No one's going to argue that voter fraud isn't harmful and illegal, but finding evidence of its "long history" is like hunting for jackalopes. As Mother Jones put it, between 2000 and 2010, there were 47,000 UFO sightings, 441 Americans killed by lightning - and only 13 cases of in-person voter impersonation.

I don't know how he has been getting away with his "Oh I didn't work for Bain then we just made shiat up for the SEC" statement.

Either he is lying or he broke the law. He seems not bothered about breaking the law or rules, for example him impersonating a police officer or tackling students at his school and cutting their hair.
