No, Farkers are admitting what everyone has known for decades, that NAACP members usually vote for Democrats.

Bingo. If Herman Cain had won the GOP nomination (and God I wish he had, I miss him)...he would've gotten the same reception Romney got yesterday, and Biden would get the same reception he got today.

It's not about skin color, it's about message.

When Obama is too busy to make a public appearance, you just KNOW that some scumbag somewhere out there in the world is about to get wacked.

max_pooper: dodecahedron: Biden kicked ASS. he needs to do this everywhere, in exactly the same way.

I have to agree. Biden was spot on with his criticisms of Romney and the GOP. I do like how he kept repeating "Governor Romney and his Republican allies." It really hammered home how much Romney, despite a moderate to liberal record in Massachusetts, is fellatiating the extreme right.

Agreed and the spin from the right about this is pathetic. I think they have to really emphasize that it's important not only to elect Obama but to elect democrats to Congress. A lot of younger people blow off the Congressional elections because they don't understand why they are important. This wasn't a young audience, but I don't think it hurts to reinforce this wherever they go.

TheHappTroll: NeoCortex42: TheHappTroll: Anybody found a transcript? I can't watch politicians speak, something about their mouths moving.

Normally I'd agree with you, but Biden's speech is really worth watching at least a few clips of. It's not just what he says, but how he says it. He wasn't so much "speaking" as "preaching" up there. It was a lot more energetic than most political speeches of watched.

I usually take that to mean no substance. I'm to old for cheerleaders. If he doesn't say anything specific I'll probably pass.

This is one of the few speeches that has both. He has the enthusiasm of the cheerleaders, but also takes time to give very specific examples of what he's done, what he wants to do, and what the other side wants to do. He didn't pull any punches, but I also feel like he didn't take needless swipes either.

Unlike the GOP, Biden has no problem saying "My opponent is a nice guy and a family man. We just have a different vision of what needs to be done."

I love the picture from the CNN article.

i2.cdn.turner.com

I don't know what asshat thought that wasn't kind of a biased picture. (My guess is someone searched for 'Obama walking away' on Getty.)

I am the only one noticing the Obama campaign strategy of marginalizing Romney as presidential material when they can? Obama will rarely call him by name, usually it's "my opponent" or "previous speaker". Sending in Biden to counter-point Romney looks even better than Obama doing it himself when either one was going to knock the speech out of the park. Why give Romney the air-time of "Romney vs. Obama" he needs to look presidential when they don't have to?

Silly Jesus: It appears that Farkers are actually admitting that NAACP members just might be voting based upon skin color. Am I getting the general feel of the thread right? Isn't this possibility usually vehemently denied?

Try this instead: He received 95% of the black vote in 2008, so there's an established historical precedent that allows one to conclude his support among that group of individuals will be extremely high in 2012. That conclusion is based off the fact nothing has really occured to alter that dynamic and either disuade them from voting for Obama or to persuade them to vote for Romeny.

In addition, John Kerry received 88% of the black vote in the 2004 election. In 2000 Gore received 90%. This establishes a pattern of blacks massively supporting the Democratic Candidate regardless of race.

Now, go be stupid elsewhere.

kregh99: That was really a dumb move. That's an easy slam-dunk for the black vote and instead it's turned into Battle of the Dopey-ass White Guys.

Let me just ask you one question: are you really that stupid?

Cat Food Sandwiches: NateGrey: Cat Food Sandwiches: Screw you, I've already got 97% of the black vote. Now watch this drive.

Hey dont make fun of the greatest Republican ever next to Reagan, George W Bush.

Respect your party, tard.

In case you haven't noticed, Obama has continued many of Bush's policies, but that's cool, right?

No, it's not cool. Alternative: Romney will continue ALL of Bush's policies.

Next point I can biatchslap?

brigid_fitch: I love this new "controversy" the media and the right-wing are now flogging: Why isn't the president addressing the NAACP? What does it mean? Does he not care about their vote? And, unspoken, is the underlying question of why isn't the black president addressing other blacks?

Obama got 95% of the African American vote in 2008. I don't think they're going to suddenly switch parties because Biden's showing up instead.

I do feel like I've dropped into Bizzaro world this week. Yesterday you had the Washington Post's "fact checker" calling the president a liar because he disagreed with Obama's defintion of "many" (as in "many middle class Americans pay a higher tax rate than Romney")

Today a googled news search revealed that bizzarely, only the hyper-right wing rag The Washington Examiner is running a story pointing out that Romney's attacks on Obama as the "Outsourcer in Chief" because stimulus dollars were spent overseas, are kinda disingenous because it was the Republicans who killed a "buy American" clause in the bill that would have prevented that from happening.

That seems worth pointing out, and yet the vast majority of the "Mainstream media" hasn't bothered

Because if he did, the new "controversy" would be "Obama pandering to the blacks?" or "NAACP in the tank for Obama!" or "Is Obama promoting a poverty pimp agenda?" or "Secret ties between NAACP and Black Panthers exposed."

Just send the goofy guy from Delaware.
