beantowndog: When I first saw star wars in the theater I was about 5 and thought the big black helmet guy was just awesome.
AngryJailhouseFistfark: That would be the Child Catcher, and yes, this list is lame without him.
Walker: Hmmmmm seems to be a very UK-centric list. I've never even heard of half the characters. And a boy on the show "Grange Hill" is scarier than Death?
Raug the Dwarf: Your_Midnight_Man: I literally got up and left the room.[i48.tinypic.com image 533x300]Nice. Perfect with your log-in name too."Let the midnight special...shine a light on me."
Big Beef Burrito: Your_Midnight_Man: I literally got up and left the room.[i48.tinypic.com image 533x300]What is that one? Looks familiar...like I know it, but don't want to remember that I do....
gbcinques: List fails without mention of that nasty little doll from Trilogy of Terror!

unlikely: 20 scariest if you grew up in the UK.They forgot sleestak.
wippit: hbk72777: wippit: Technically... I wouldn't classify stuff like Poltergeist, Phantasm, and It to be 'childhood' stuff.+1 for Large Marge, though, forgot all about her.Mommy didn't let you watch R rated movies?Oh she did. Watched the original Friday the 13th with me and laughed her ass off the whole time. Still not a childhood movie.

PacManDreaming: Sorry, but that list fails without Mr. Barlow. It also needs to include the Glick boys.
Dr. Whoof: Why is Vigo on this list? Seriously...Vigo...why? Slimer is scarier than Vigo. The librarian from the first movie is WAY more scary than Vigo. The painting of the Ghostbusters in togas is more scary than Vigo!Author fails.
Lt. Cheese Weasel: [3.bp.blogspot.com image 456x319]After this movie, I never went anywhere in the country side again. I'm still here. He's out there. Keeping it that way too.

improvius: [johnkennethmuir.files.wordpress.com image 640x447]The worst part was probably the horrifying, screaming wail it made.Oh, and the smoking, dessicated bodies it spat out.
dallylamma: There was a movie that I saw part of as a kid that really terrified me. I've been trying to figure out what it was for years, maybe one of you can help. From my vague recollection it was a Sword and Sorcery type flick. There were two scenes that burned into my memory and still kind of freak me out today. The first was children being sacrificed by being thrown into a furnace or lava pit. The hero manages to rescue a kid and smuggles it back to the kid's parents in a large sack carried over his shoulder. The second involved a terrified man running through a group of motionless cloaked figures that looked like Ring Wraiths or Dementors. The man runs into one of the figures and is absorbed into the cloak, seconds later the cloak opens and a collection of slime covered human bones drops on the ground in front of the figure.Any ideas on what movie this might be?
minoridiot: I thought that Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka was scary, particularly when he started his yelling.

gunga galunga: I took the tunnnel of horrors scene in stride
