Return to Oz had more creepy characters than anything, but just about every character or group of characters were creepy, especially the Wheelers? (Can't remember if that's what they were called or not.

I can't remember the character name, but I could have sworn there was a farked up owl in Secret of Nimh that scared the crap out of me when I was little.

Oh she did. Watched the original Friday the 13th with me and laughed her ass off the whole time. Still not a childhood movie.

Freddy, Jason,Chucky, were all slap stick cheese. But the Tall Man was pure badass.

My childhood was watching Maude re runs during the day, and Mash in the afternoon, sprinkled with HBO movies like D.C. Cab, Vacation, Porky's , at night.

The scene with the Glick kid outside Mark's window freaked me out so bad as a kid that ny 8 year old self demanded my mom get me new curtains for my bedroom, as the ones I had were very thin, see through white gauzy ones, and I wanted thick ones that I could not see outside or anything see in.

A year or so later, my oldest brother came home from leave, and thought it would be HILARIOUS to put on one of those monster masks and stand outside my window, scratching at the screen. I opened up the curtains, saw him, let out a blood curdling scream and passed out.


My dad ran in, saw me lying there all white, and thought I was dead. A minute later my brother ran in, holding the mask, it took my dad about 2 seconds to figure out what had happened, and he was so freaked out and upset he just hauled off and knocked the shiat out of my brother because he thought he had quite literally scared me to death.

They woke me up, and I woke up still screaming bloody murder.

Glad to see Watership Down on this list. "Oh, hey, a movie about rabbits. This will surely be good, clean, fun and- OH GOD WTF WHY IS THIS HAPPENING"

Bah!!!! That part scared the FARK out of me when I was younger! Just when I thought I had that movie repressed too! I never thought a made-for-TV would freak me the fark out!

The elf that wanted to be a dentist was FAAAR scarier than the abominable snowman. Just think, you fall asleep, then some amateur wanna-be dentist rips out ALL your freakin' teeth.

Not only that but he's a magical ELF that works in Santa's workshop and has full access to the sleigh that can go around the world in one night.

That Elf was scarier than shiat.

The only thing that terrified my kids was the new Wiilly Wonka movie. The effects freak them out (Especially the oompa loompas, they are terrified of them).

There was a movie that I saw part of as a kid that really terrified me. I've been trying to figure out what it was for years, maybe one of you can help.

From my vague recollection it was a Sword and Sorcery type flick. There were two scenes that burned into my memory and still kind of freak me out today.

The first was children being sacrificed by being thrown into a furnace or lava pit. The hero manages to rescue a kid and smuggles it back to the kid's parents in a large sack carried over his shoulder.

The second involved a terrified man running through a group of motionless cloaked figures that looked like Ring Wraiths or Dementors. The man runs into one of the figures and is absorbed into the cloak, seconds later the cloak opens and a collection of slime covered human bones drops on the ground in front of the figure.

Any ideas on what movie this might be?

I took the tunnnel of horrors scene in stride. What freaked me out was when he starts yelling at Charlie at the end.
